We showed up just before noon. Patio was full, but most everybody seemed to already be eating. Saw some big waffle plates that looked quite appetizing. Came in the door and was told by a young lady that we could sit anywhere. We sat right by the door. Aaaand we were ignored. Took several minutes before one person bought us menus, then that person was seen rolling silverware with her back to us. Several more minutes, and I am watching tables finish and get up around us but we're not being acknowledged. Finally after about 6-8 minutes a server comes over and asks if anybody has us. Tells us that we're too late for breakfast. Dang, but okay. We place our whole order and the food comes out in a reasonable amount of time. The taco salad is just a plate of nachos I can't imagine why they call it a salad. Food is fine, but we are right back to being ignored. I have to stand up and tap a server rolling silverware to get a drink refill. At this point we are the only table left inside the dining room, so we are being straight up ignored. Even after the waitress comes and drops the check, she then disappears for several minutes. Finally settle up and get out of there. I think they had a busy lunch and by the time we got there everybody was checking out and not wanting one last table. Plus we are charged for water (not bottled water, just water glasses) which I have never heard of in 20+ years in the restaurant business. There are only like five places to go in Cedar Key but whenever we return this place will be off our list. Hope others have...

I’m not one to normally leave a review, but we were so disappointed, I simply have to talk about our experience. We got to the restaurant at 11. They must have had a breakfast rush because there were dirty tables everywhere with a few clean tables mixed in. After standing in the doorway for several minutes, we were handed menus and silverware and told to sit at a clean table. After we sat ourselves, we looked at the menus and realized they were lunch only. When I server finally came over, I asked about breakfast and was told it was over. She held up her tablet to take an order and asked what I wanted. Dumbfounded, I said I would need a minute. She turned and left… never returning! Never talking a drink order… never even looked at our table again! We waited for another 10 minutes, staring at all the servers walking around behind the drink area, hoping someone would notice us. No one did. Very disappointing. We left without food or drinks, hungry and thirsty. Unfortunately, we read the reviews after our unfortunate encounter. Had we read first, we would not...

Great food and great service! update I felt inclined to drop my review rating. While the service and food are still good, I was appalled that we were charged for water. I would kind of understand if water is all we got, and nothing else. But when we order big breakfasts and spend $8 on lattes and you STILL want to charge for water, that's absurd and insulting. Maybe you should start charging to use the restroom too, since you feel so inclined to charge your patrons for things the majority of other businesses give freely. 🙄 Next update Wow...an owner response that is rude and immature? You really should be wise with your words because lots of people read these reviews. You should take the good comments with the bad and use them to make your business more successful. You're snarky responses to patrons who take the time to comment on issues they have not only drive those people away, but also others who are deciding where they want to visit. I've been a restaurant manager for many years and if I ever acted like you, I would no...

Cedar Key's only full service breakfast and lunch café! Breakfast until 11am daily and Lunch until 2:30pm. The restaurant is located on historic 2nd Street next door to the Cedar Key Welcome Center. With a slightly retro flair, they offer home town dining at a reasonable price! They offer a wide range of favorites for breakfast including skillets, crepes, omelets, breakfast burritos and more. Lunch favorites include salads, smash burgers, subs, clubs and more. Beverage choices include espresso, cappuccino, lattes and traditional favorites. They also offer those favorite vacation breakfast Bloody Mary's and Mimosas to the craft beers and a full bar for lunch. They have a spacious covered deck for dining outside. Awesome staff and food! We will definitely be back!

As this is our third year here, updating the review from 2 years ago:-) We wrote: Super friendly place with great food! Skillets are epic! Still true! Adding: This eatery is an island treasure! Cedar Key recently endured a damaging TS Idalia which was bad enough to bring Jim Cantore to town. Folks have done a tremendous amount of work to put things back to right. 2nd Street Cafe is at the forefront of that effort and their staff (most especially JoAnne!) are friendly and efficient as they serve you really.good.food from the kitchen. Go hungry, leave happy! See you next year!

We absolutely LOVE this place! Alexa was such an amazing waitress, and the grandma was great company! We came to Cedar Key to look at a few properties and were worried when we were on the way there that we wouldn't find anywhere to grab lunch. Not only were we wrong but, we ended up finding one of our favorite places to date! The sweet tea was to die for. The sampler was out of this world good. The French dip was among the best we have ever had and the red fish sandwich was ABSOLUTELY FIRE! 🔥 KUDOS to ownership/management. This place is absolutely amazing. 💯
