I came to Energy Fitness after working out for a year with a trainer at a well known gym. I left because I was looking for someone who could energize my training and help me get to the next level of strength and fitness. I can't say enough great stuff about Coach Burns, and the progress I've made in 7 months at Energy Fitness in terms of strength and endurance is remarkable. Coach Matt's combination of designing individualized workouts that are right for my body type and age (in my 60's), his calm, positive, always encouraging demeanor, and the atmosphere created by all the trainers and clients makes me look forward to every session (even though it's really challenging!). The gym is sanitary, well equipped, and has a variety of machines and equipment. There are all sizes, shapes and types of people training, and working out there feels like being part of a family. You'll skip a session (or two) because no one is holding you accountable. I've seen the problem with my colleagues and I've experienced the same. You not only need someone to keep you consistent, but someone who understands movement, anatomy, and kinematics.
I approached Matt after developing an overuse issue with a prior trainer. I specifically wanted to focus on flexibility, posture, core strength, and functional fitness to keep me active playing (and walking) the golf course while keeping the typical aches and pains of a desk job at bay.
