Wife and I were visiting family in the area for a few days and even though we have status with Marriott and Hilton and rarely stray from them we picked this place due to the location and having walkable dining and shopping. The area around the hotel seemed very safe, never saw a single homeless person, anything or anyone suspicious. We got an upgrade on the rental car at the airport and parked the rented Maserati in their free parking lot, no issues, so I would have been comfortable if we had our less exotic car in that same lot. Loved the Italian restaurant next door, but there were other places to eat that were walkable as well, we just didn't have the time . Target/CVS across one street, costco a block away and a mall across the other street. We had a mini suite, very nice and spacious, probably more than we needed, was more like an apartment. They have keurigs in the rooms and lobby and extra K-cups and supplies in the lobby if you need them. We bought a small half/half at CVS but later noticed they actually had real creamer cups, not the powdered stuff hotels usually put in the rooms. We didn't eat or drink in the lobby bar/restaurant but it looked nice and the pool had cabanas that seemed free and were vacant when we looked, it just didn't fit into our schedule on such a short trip but if we were here for more than two nights or had more free time we would have spent more time at the property and the area. For the price we paid we were very impressed, I don't believe there were any resort fees, I know there was no parking fees and that usually worries me that parking might be in short supply, poorly maintained or poorly lit but the opposite was true. One day they called us to let us know that they were going to wash the outside windows with a drone and just didn't want us to be alarmed, we were packing anyways and about to leave but stayed a few minutes to watch it, very cool. Oh and the elevators were fast, always seemed to arrive quickly or already be there. I have no complaints and only compliments for the staff we encountered, all of them were helpful and pleasant, even the other guests were all nice. At this price point it exceeded our expectations. I completed their survey and got a nice e-mail that was not AI generated from the manager the next day, I appreciate the little touches. I believe Cambria hotels will now be part of my searches if they are anything...
Read moreThe only reason I would give this place a 1 star after my experience there is because its across the street from a shopping center and the room had a microwave. I traveled with my pregnant wife and 2 children. Upon entry of the room, a few of the basic lights were out which made the room kind of dim, but it didn’t stop there. The tub was dirty and it did not drain. My wife cleaned the tub and attempted to give our kids a good night bath, but the water would not drain. She ended up using a pen and a hanger to try to take out the debris in the drain. My wife is also a housekeeping Manager and use to inspecting rooms before guests arrive. She was baffled housekeeping or the inspector of the floor did not check for stopped up drains and debris left previously from prior guests also not informing engineering of the lights being out. She couldn’t fully get the water to drain, it took about 30 mins just for the bit of water to drain. Furthermore, she ended up informing the front desk twice. The first time we were offered to move rooms, but she said no because we were already settled in, and our kids already got in the bed. We asked to have someone come up to fix it but were told the last engineer left for the evening (6 PM). The second time they asked to switch us rooms, we said no because once again, our kids were in bed and asleep (8 PM) We asked to be comped, and the manger said no. The front desk lady said an engineer could be up in 30 mins to fix the drain. This was around 9 PM at this point. He did his job and left. But it didn’t end there. I wanted to add on an additional night because we were in the process of moving and needed a place to stay until our place was together. I was charged extra for an early departure, but I never left early. We asked to have a late checkout, 1PM the first night of staying. We stayed 2 consecutive nights. I ended up booking a hotel down the street. I was already charged a $50 holding fee which I never received back and stayed in communication with the Director of rooms to receive. She was rude and clearly incompetent at doing her job. She refunded me for the early departure that I never asked for. The staff was friendly and courteous up to me leaving and asking about the holding fee. I recommend doing a walk of your room, or before you book, look into...
Read moreWe loved our stay at the Cambria Hotel Phoenix Chandler – Fashion Center. The location is ideal, right next to Chandler Fashion Center with plenty of shopping, dining, and entertainment nearby. The Front Desk service was great. Jacob checked us in with a smile and even asked what our floor preference was! Our room was spacious, modern, and SPOTLESS and had GREAT AIR CONDITIONING! Our room had a microwave, mini-fridge and Keurig coffee maker. The walk-in shower was large and had great water pressure. There were ample, well-placed outlets in both the bedroom and bathroom. We had a great, peaceful night’s sleep!
The FITNESS CENTER is the hidden gem and was clearly designed by someone who works out. It was well-equipped with everything we needed for a solid workout and even had a rope pull! It was spacious, well maintained and properly sanitized. The outdoor POOL was beautiful, clean, and perfect for cooling off in the Arizona sun. And the patio had plenty of seating to enjoy a cocktail and sunset.
The Social Circle RESTAURANT & BAR, located in the lobby, was both convenient and well-priced. They offer Breakfast, Dinner and Cocktails. Our Old Fashioned and Summer Strawberry Mint Spritzer were EXCELLENT and a great to start our meal. We had the Grilled Chicken and Vegetables and Southwestern Salad with Grilled Chicken. Both were WONDERFUL and we loved having a clean meal with a huge portion of protein. For dessert, we shared the Warm Chocolate Brownie and Ice Cream and Caramel Chocolate drizzle. It was a delicious treat to top off a great meal. In the morning we had the Yogurt Parfait, Oatmeal and Farm Breakfast. All had hearty portions and were a great value. Other menu options looked great too and folks at the next table let me snap photos of their meal!
