If you are traveling northbound on Arizona Ave, you may miss it because the sign is obstructed. It looks like a Mexican grocery store from the outside. I had to do a u-turn and go around in order to pull into the parking lot. I am a little confused by so many good reviews. Sadly, my experience was less than stellar. Parking was difficult. I had to wait for a spot to open. When you walk in, there are different little Mexican shops around. The restaurant is in the middle, set up more like a cafeteria. There was only one person in front of us when my friend and I arrived for lunch (on a Monday). Neither of us had been there before. I tried to order an orchata (Mexican rice drink). But was told I had to get it next door. They only have sodas and bottled juices. It was busy and not many places to sit left. The table we sat at was still dirty because no one had come by to clean it. We had to wipe it clean ourselves. They took longer than expected. We chatted for a while (10-15 min) before someone came by with our food (2 tortas). My friend and I both ordered the torta de carne asada (grilled steak sandwich). It wasn't bad. But, not the best I've had. It was a little greasy. I suddenly wished I had ordered the torta "Ahogada" (smothered for you gringos. lol), instead. Maybe I have been spoiled by eating at some of the best authentic Mexican restaurants in Chicago and Mexico. I know I have made better tortas myself before. I just get lazy sometimes and prefer to go out to check some new places. Not sure I will be going back. But, will consider giving them a...
Read moreok food-not worth the wait. Check the wait time with the staff . They weren't kidding when they told us its an hour wait to make the food. Not to sit down to make the food(2 TACOS AND A BOWL OF MENUDO)Greatest advice i got was to call ahead and pick it up in an hour or so.
Good Restaurant but , make sure you have hours to wait and make sure your not that hungry. I am not kidding look at other reviews they take upwards to an hour if not longer. They are upfront about the wait which is nice but i don't get why it takes an hour to make two tacos and a bowl of menudo. Tacos were awesome 5/5. Menudo on the other hand was old, you can taste that the menudo was reheated. Meat was chewy and old maybe if it was a fresh batch it might be good. System is confusing and half of the wait is the process. Overall food is good but not good enough to wait an hour good for tacos. Might return(highly doubt it) when I'm not that hungry or mind the wait. From when we walked in to when we left we were there for over three hours. If you have the time go for it, otherwise there are plenty of options in that area where it will take a third...

My lady and I had a menudo, torta ahogada, and carne asada tacos. The food was delicious, and very authentic. Menudo and tacos are something most people have heard of and tried, but if you have never heard of or tried a torta ahogada, you must try it!
It's a special torta bread that is harder than normal bread, completely drenched in a tasty tomato sauce, served typically with pork, lime, pickled red onions, and a very spicy salsa that you can add to the tomato sauce to amp up the heat as much as you'd like. This is a Guadalajara, Jalisco specialty. I am happy to say that the torta was even better than some of the tortas I have had from the motherland!
This place is inside of a building that had a bunch of little shops, so don't be surprised when you walk in and find it is not a formal restaurant, but rather more like a mini indoor plaza. Give it a try, you won't be...
