My first time visiting the Carolina Performing Arts theater was to see the Alvin Ailey ADT on March 18th, 2025. The performance was amazing and I had what I considered pretty decent seats. My only complaint was that the seats were so close up on the beam that I was really cramped and couldn't stretch out my legs and I am 5'2. My friend who was way taller than me had to turn his legs side ways just to sit comfortably. Parking could also be better, but considering it is on a university campus, I didn't mind the five minute walk.

This is a great facility acoustically. The leg room in front of each seat can be very tight. We've seen some great performances here.

Congratulations to the leadership of this facility for the brave act of calling out racism [sic] in all its forms. Bravo UNC Arts!!

“... Carolina Performing Arts has its home on a campus that has a full-throated history of rcist ideology and action against Blck people, in a region with the same, in a country with the same still. Our collective situation has been dire for some time, but perhaps we, wrongly, did not see it for what it was: an urgent call-to-action. Being able to even make this mistake or benefit from this blindness is itself a privilege.”

Stunningly...

Excellent and diverse performances to choose from. Nice venues in the huge Memorial Hall, smaller Moeser Auditorium, and tiny Current theatre. A few notes about the CPA Box Office-- It is a virtual Box Office and not actually a walk up place; it is only accessible by phone or email, except 1 hr before each show when it is located at the venue of the performance. The virtual box office is closed on holidays of the Academic Calendar (which differs from the University employee calendar, so expect no response for about a month during...
