Shrunken Head — Local services in Chapel Hill

Oh, where to begin. As I had graduated before the opening, it was not too long before my return to CH to discover this fabulous place of family. Mr. Henderson greeted me upon entering and made me feel like this place was opened just for me. One of my favorite visits was a weekday. I parked on Franklin Street just because I found a parking place, y'all know what I mean. I was going into the Head just as Michael Jordan was coming out. There I was, in the doorway chest to chest with MJ. Mr. Henderson laughed and said I was being played one-on-one. In 1993, Mr. Henderson was selling championship shirts out of a dutch door set-up at the store. Yes, I got one and have left instructions that I am to be buried in that shirt! I have never visited CH and not gone in there. I always find something I can't live without. Recently, I was trying to order a "foot" magnet for my car. (I live out-of-state.) There were none available. I phoned to inquire about a reorder. I was told they would be restocked. The person I spoke with said, "of course" then she took my name and number to call when they arrived. Sure enough, the phone call came. What other store would do that? I love being part of the Shrunken Head family and will continue to be one until...

This wonderfully unique shop on Franklin Street is a classic part of the charm and tradition that is Chapel Hill. On each visit, every patron is greeted warmly and offered assistance finding anything that is reflective of the Carolina tradition and family. Whether it is your first or fifty first visit, everyone is truly welcome and it shows!

I have purchased Carolina gear (clothes) three times online. The quality of the clothes is always great. It's not always that way when buying clothes online. I recently purchased a long sleeve t-shirt that was embroidered with Carolina and Tarheels. This item is being discontinued. I received an alert because I am a VIP member about a two day sale. This item was marked down from 39 to 20. When it arrived my wife was jealous (seriously). I purchased the same item in a smaller size plus two additional Carolina T shirts for her for her birthday. I have been in the actual store when I lived in Chapel Hill. I have always gotten great service and if your a Carolina Tarheel fan they have plenty of gear to wear or use to show your team spirit.
