This experience was like none other! My son will turn 3 in about 2 months and is typically a little shy when it comes to strangers. Watching him come out of his she'll to two "yelling" grown men was amazing. He was eager and excited to do anything they asked of him--whether it be mop the deck, shoot at scallywag with water cannon, party, dance the limbo, heck be might have jumped off ship had they asked him too. It was so wonderful to see the interactions. The crew's way of engaging each child, no matter the age was special and a delight for any parent to see. My son was asking to go again before we could even get off the ship. This was, by far, a very rewarding experience for my son and for me as a parent. Will HIGHLY recommend for any parent and child coming to the area. Things learned or encouraged: team work, learning the different parts of the boat, how to read a map, cleanliness, following directions (this was instructed many times), safety, and payment for HARD work or rather hard work leads to reward as is true in life. This team is skilled at what they do and highly entertaining for all ages.
Edit: 2/14/20. It's now been 8 months since our trip...we still play pirates. My son is still talking about this experience and he is only 3.5. my rave review has not changed. We will be...
Read moreWe recently celebrated our boys’ birthdays with Pirates of Charleston, and it was truly beyond anything we imagined. From start to finish, it was an unforgettable experience — fun, safe, and brilliantly organized.
The moment we stepped onboard, the kids were transported into a real-life pirate adventure. Captain Shackles and crew were not only dressed to impress, but they stayed completely in character, making the entire party feel like a movie come to life. The kids got pirate names, learned pirate lingo, and even had an epic water cannon battle on the high seas!
The boat was clean, spacious, and perfectly outfitted for kids. Safety was clearly a top priority, but that didn’t take away from the excitement one bit. There was nonstop laughter, creative games, and a treasure hunt that had every child fully immersed and engaged.
The staff went above and beyond to make our birthday boys feel special. They took care of every detail, which meant parents could relax and enjoy the ride too. It was stress-free, magical, and worth every penny.
Our guests are still raving about it — and all the kids said it was the best day ever. If you’re looking to throw a birthday party that kids will talk about all year, THIS is the one.
Ahoy, five stars all the...
Read moreI took my two children on the Pirate voyage. They both just had birthdays (4, 7) and had been on a similar adventure on a larger boat in Myrtle Beach a few years ago and my older daughter wanted to do it again for her birthday this year. Fortunately I found Pirates of Charleston. Not only is it closer to us (we live in Summerville) but we found the small boat and the performance of the crew to be delightful. The foam swords (purchased separately from ticket--don't try to be cheap like me and go without: your children will convince you on the day that they absolutely need the cap and sword!) are far better than plastic ones we'd received and confiscated in the past. They had such a great time on their adventure and have been bouncing around the house fighting scalawags, hiding and protecting their treasure, and swabbing the deck ever since they got home. It was fun for the kids and the parents as well. They did a great job of making each child feel important to the crew. They gave each child a pirate name and gave them individual important tasks throughout the journey. My 4 yo was probably the youngest on the boat, and can be a bit shy and reserved, but she still had a wonderful time being a pirate manning...
