Michaels — Attraction in Charlotte

Lots of arts and crafts goodies. I want to spend way too much money everyone I go in there because my brain goes into overdrive thinking about all the fun projects I can do.

They used to have in-person creating classes that anyone could attend but they stopped having them when COVID started. I asked an employee this evening whether they’ve started the classes back up again. She said they are not but hope to soon; they are waiting for a decision from higher ups that it’s safe to start having the in-person classes again.

There ARE online classes you can sign up for on Michael’s website. I’m holding out for the in-person classes though. 🙂

One last thing, I just found out today that the Stonecrest Michael’s is an official UPS drop-off site. As long as your package is already boxed up and has the shipping label on it, they’ll scan your package and hold it for UPS to pick it up. Convenient when The UPS Store is closed for the day. 😄 It’s also a pickup location, so (to my understanding) you can tell UPS to deliver your packages there and pick them up in the store. I have been to this location before. About 6 years ago I had them do a custom framing job for a beautiful Hermes Scarf that I have. On this occasion I wanted to try framing myself. I found a beautiful frame in just the tone of gold I had been looking for. I got very lucky in this instance because like the selection of DIY matting the frame selection was moderate at best. I then went to isle 71 I believe where they had a fabulous selection of heavy duty beautifully colored Cardstock paper! Here I found the perfect shade of gray to finish up my framing project! Everyone I came in contact with working at this store were nice and pleasant. I even asked one associate about any current coupons. She invited me to pull up the Michael’s website on my phone and there she pointed out was a 50% off coupon 1 Full Priced item! I saved $15 dollars on the $30 Frame. I was in there today, went upto the register and there were 2 checkout ladies taking care of 2 customers. The 1 checkout lady couldn't get off the register fast enough and we made eye contact. I said it's ok if there is something that is pressing I can wait. She left. Now the other checkout lady says use the self checkout kiosk I said - fine. This was not my 1st choice as I had already stated. I went along with her, she placed me at a kiosk that was locked. I could not access it, finally another worker came over and signed me on. I rang up my 5 items and they did not come up on sale. I glanced over to the clerk that put me on that kiosk and said ma'am the sale price is not coming up, she said we'll I guess it has to be verified like I was putting her out. I just left my items on the counter and walked out. Its a lack of customer service like this that results in stores shutting down. I refuse to buy anything there again.
