Optimist Hall — Attraction in Charlotte

super brightly lit and welcoming! felt like when you die and see the light but i think its just optimist hall. they really cracked the code on window technology. wood floors out of this worlllorld! paper store cool! cool paper store! lots of cool pencils you can test out! liked the pencil with eraser shaped like a rectangle, seems like best eraser shape. had gems and mushrooms. plant store cool! almost bought watering can with spray bottle built into it, 20 dollars too expensive though. should add terrarium building supplies like i saw in that movie one time when that guy built a terrarium with a car falling off a mountain but then it really happened or it happened previously, im not sure but they should add that. noble smoke barbecue out of this world with them floors! noble smoke and them floor both! pet store really cool! some weird things happened in there with dog wine and segregation. woman there very friendly, kept trying to offer advice. i think if you went to her with deep life problems you would walk out with many solutions and a nice bone for your dog. gelato good, gelato chunky. texture weird but i like it but the girl did not. girl said i dont like this and then ate 90 percent of it. great selection of vendors. i saw hipsters! so many hipsters. hip hip hooray for hipsters at the optimist hall! they've even got a big tower with their name on it. kids will play tag around you until they are reprimanded by their father. if you want to play cornhole, better be prepared to duke it out with some children. they aren't even playing but they're throwing them bags around. they took their crocs off. are crocs a good tool to be more fast? i don't think so. i think they're just bad footwear. why are they popular? you can put pins in them but i don't know. i saw cool sign that said liquor and it was 15,000 dollars and i thought about getting it and filling my whole garage with it and my mom said it's probably not big enough and how would you get it and i said i would put it on a flatbed and drive it home to find out it doesn't even fit and then what would you do with it? i would just have a big sign that says liquor on it and i'm out 15 grand. has this ever...

An update to this place due to a recent visit. As mentioned before Felix's handmade pandas are awesome. This time we tried chorizo, la cabana and the fig with goat cheese empanadas for $12.00. And honestly the fig and goat cheese was the best of the three. That is not to say the others were not good, on the contrary the were really good but the cheese and fig combo is just way better. We also tried the dumpling lady place and the chicken dumplings were really good. They had them in a chilli oil sauce that was really good. Price was not bad either, 10 for 10 I believe but I do wish they would let you combine more than one flavor but all in all it was great. The spicy noodles was my wife's favorite. Just the right amount of spice that gets you coming back for more and the deeper you get in the bowl the spicier it gets. On a scale from 1-10 it's a solid 6ish. We also had brisket and that was delicious as well and it came from Noble smoke and it didn't disappoint. Nice smoky flavor with sauce in the side made a perfect combo. Just be aware that every item is sold separately so it can add up quickly. This was a great place to go eat and chill a bit. We got there a bit late so some of the places were closed or about to close, we got there 30 min before closing time so I expected it. We got some empanadas from Felix's empanadas really good, a bbq sandwich from noble smoke they were out of brisket so pork it was and it was ok, some poke bowl from zukku and that was delicious plus we got some buns and soup from Bao & broth and was really good. The tonkotsu ramen was delicious as were the pork buns. We tried to get some food from a place called Mezeh but they were closed. My wife had it before and she said their food is really good. Prices are a bit high but it's Charlotte and everything is up these days and this will be my only complaint. Can't really do much about that. I was a bit exhausted after a long day of traffic and the Ren Fair, but this was a good choice for the whole group. I highly recommend it with friends. We each trotted off to a place that had what we had a hankering for. I'm diabetic, and ordered at Botiwalla's and ended up with a fantastic salad, low carb and vegetarian. Delicious is an understatement, the server was helpful in determining things I could eat that were low in carbs and not only did I fill up, the meal had little effect on my blood sugar. That's a rare thing for me!

The entire party had no problem finding something for dinner. We found a table and took turns holding it till we all came back and ate. Optimist Hall is a bit of a maze for newcomers; but, surprisingly we had little problem finding our way back to the party. The number of choices can be a bit overwhelming, as can the place itself. So many choices! We all agreed that anytime we're in Charlotte, we will stop here for something to eat! It was definitely a party for five at the Optimist Hall. The people were very friendly and helpful. If you get lost, just stop anyone for help.

The atmosphere is cafeteria like; but, full of plants and as such, not so bad. The parking is not horrible, but not great either. Next time we will try to find a parking place a bit closer, or I could have them drop me off; but, since I was driving, and they were hungry, a took it slow.
