The BEST yoga spot, my only complaint is I wish it was located closer to me!! I didn't think I was a yoga person until I came here!!
They have a big parking lot with additional parking around back. They have a nice lobby with a couch and super cute decor! It smelled sooo good in there and they have some candles for sale as well as some clothing.
They have cubbies to put your belongings. They aren't secured in a locker but I wasn't worried about anything going missing.
They had big bathrooms that were super nice with deodorant and feminine products available. They also had a meditation room, but I never went in there.
The yoga room was spacious with mirrors in the front. The side wall was all windows. I believe most of the classes are hot yoga so they have heaters on the ceiling. I go to the class at 7:00 on Thursdays which is not heated, it was still warm in the room, but not too bad.
Everyone brings their own mat, but I think I read they have some you can rent. They played light music throughout the class.
They have a very diverse group of instructors which is so great, I haven't found many fitness studios like this. The instructor I take from is Abby. She does a great job explaining the positions and what they are good for, she also does a great job with breathing reminders. She has a very calming presence but is also funny and makes you feel comfortable. She is also very knowledgeable. She will come around to help with positions if needed but always asks if there is anyone who would prefer to not be touched at the beginning of class. They also have multiple different types of yoga they offer. I take prana and it really is a great workout, but I never feel like I'm working out.
They have different membership options. I only go once a week, so a membership just didn't make sense for me, but they have a sliding pay scale so you only pay what you can. This is so inclusive and more places need to do this! You can pay from $8-$27 per class depending on what is right for you.
When I leave I always feel so refreshed. Everyone here is so welcoming, open and inclusive and I never feel like I'm being judged! Really really...
Read moreI can't recommend Coterie enough!
After I got a skin infection at my last hot yoga studio (🤦) I was looking for a new studio. Coterie offers three types of classes: Power (Vinyasa + mat Pilates + cardio,) Prana (heated Vinyasa,) and Peace (unheated Yin). After I took my first class, I signed up for the unlimited monthly membership. THAT'S how amazing Coterie is. It's now been ~2 months since I started coming here consistently, and here are the standouts from my experience:
The studio is beautiful and intentionally designed. Art from local artists is for sale in the lobby and doubles as decor, the showers are cleaned after every use (!!!!!) and products for diverse hair textures is provided. Each shower room has dried eucalyptus and a steamer. The actual workout room, blocks, weights, and straps are cleaned extensively as well between classes.
Everyone is SO nice and genuinely cares about the community at the studio. The owner (Caiti) & instructors mostly knew my name within a few weeks - this is obviously not an expectation, but it was definitely a pleasant surprise! From the sliding scale pricing to the real conversations at the studio, the non-judgemental vibes is a total differentiator from other studios.
Scheduling classes is very convenient and the split of classes are great. They use the Momence app, which was new to me, but it makes it super easy to book classes and other experiences (ex. a weekend yoga immersion.) And if someone only wants to take Power/Prana/Peace classes, they offer a diverse amount of classes each week that will allow that.
Overall, I definitely encourage everyone to stop by and give Coterie a try at least once! The first class is free and they are available on Classpass as well.
P.S. I forgot to add that the studio room is heated by infrared light and not...
Read moreAbsolutely loved this studio and my first class tonight! My friend and I took Peace with Keisha and it was exactly what I needed. I came in with a ball of stress from the day, anxiety at around a 9, and left with my level down to about a 3.
From the moment you walk in the studio, you’re greeted by calming smells from the candles burning (they sell them there!) and nice, relaxing aesthetics. The studio was dim for the Peace class with candles burning - exactly what I wanted! It wasn’t completely dark in the room, which would’ve been my preference, but probably so people can see!
Keisha was such a lovely instructor. Calming voice, good pace, great explanations of poses and modifications or other stretches you could do in that moment. I’m not a yogi by any means so I really was looking for a class that would help my insane anxiety levels and offer some nice stretching.
They have several drop-in and membership options, some of which are on a sliding scale so that yoga can be made affordable and accessible to nearly everyone! I highly recommend checking out this inclusive studio and I can’t...
