After several recommendations, being new to the area, I purchased an LG 4 door refrigerator/freezer from Amendsons. I was able to have the new one delivered within the week. Cindy in Chippewa falls was very busy with two other customers when I walked in an hour before closing but still answered my questions. She deserves at least one star but unfortunately, I will not ever buy another appliance due to the company and their service of brand-new appliances.
After a few days the middle drawer began sticking - which started the horrible, continued experience!
I scheduled a service call (#1), explaining exactly the issue. They gave me the "first appointment of the day" since I had to take off work a second time now (delivery and now service)! Technician arrived after 10 am. which in my opinion is not first thing in the morning. I asked if he wanted the drawer emptied and he told me "Nope - not necessary, I know what it is since I just had this problem this week". Then, he looks at it and says "good news is I can fix it - bad news is not today - I have to order the part". He admitted that he knew yesterday that it was a common issue with this unit but still wasted my time by coming out instead of calling me to reschedule until the part came in.
Two weeks later, service call (#2) was rescheduled again for first thing, same guy arrived about 10:30. Installed the new rails, made stupid insulting jokes about my dog and left saying it was fixed. Withing a week the issue was back - drawer barely opening.
I scheduled another service call (#3) and specifically asked not to have that same guy who was rude, insulting and in my opinion has no regard for Amundson's or their customer's time. I also explained that I noticed the right side door was not installed square and is not shutting properly. After waiting a week for the appointment the same guy shows up, at 3:00 for his around noon appointment. He looks at the drawer and tells me "it was fine when I left". Yes, maybe, but it clearly is not now. He of course has to again order new rails and come back. I told him I would rather have a new refrigerator if this is going to be an ongoing issue and his response was "ha - thats not going to happen"! He was packing up and I asked if he was going to look at the right-side door. He said, "ya I will when I come back because it's a simple adjustment, but I don't have the special tool". You're a dam repair man for appliances - why don't you have the appropriate tools?
Purchased on Sept 4th. It is now Dec 17th and I am still waiting for the appliance to work as a new appliance should. And, I have not heard back from Amendson's regarding the second set of rails that were...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was looking for appliance assistance. I decided to call a local appliance store Amundson's in Chippewa Falls Wi. the morning of 7/13/21.
After multiple calls over a couple of hour period and no person to answer their business phone (just an answering service that sounded like an after hours service not switched over for business hours).
I chose to not leave a callback request message with what sounded like to me to be an 'after hours message service'. After a few calls and leaving NO request to be called back, I moved down my call list to other businesses/appliance options.
Then an hour or more later, out of the blue, a female representing the Chippewa Amundson's said she was returning my call (caller ID??) quickly spoke long enough to tell me that she was the only person in the store and could not answer the phone but is calling back the callers who had called that morning. Then proceeded to act like she could not hear me and hung up on me !!
BTW, IMHO, If there had been an actual bad connection, any service/sales business person who makes a "follow up business call" would undoubtedly call again to ensure good relations and professionally represent Amundson's business (sell you something/arrange service) BUT only if : it was an actual bad connection. it was an actual business call (sell/service something) if was a return call REQUESTED by a potential/existing customer
Looking back at this morning, I did not request a return call she only spoke a few words and hung up (maybe 7 seconds or less) no call back to address the alleged 'bad connection'
Yes, I just made the deal on a four thousand refrigerator from one of your competitors, the door in door thing looks cool on their web page :-) and I hope the smaller door will be easier to use for routine items given my disability
OTHER reviews mention: rude poor service beware
THIS review mentions: Chippewa I made no call back request
THIS review implies: rude poor service beware feelings before business un-professionalism
HINTs/SUGGESTIONs/QUESTIONs for Amundson's Management Please review your employee hiring/retention/training policies I left no message asking to call me....why was your employee making unsolicited phone calls using Amundson's resources while at work just to hang up??? Is this how the employee emo rollercoasters and treats random customers or is it related to my having a disability?
OTHER thoughts ** I hope the Amundson's other stores are not having these issues and as far as all my friends and family, I will share this experience with them and actively discourage them from doing business with the Chippewa Amundson's store...

Here is my story:
I bought a fridge from a national chain located in the Oakwood Mall area. No need to name them, we all know the blue faƧade and the claim of best deals. Old fridge died, so I needed a new one, like yesterday. Long story short, delivery & installation service purchased along with the appliance, the soonest was 5 days away, but I went for it. On the delivery day, someone calls and says, no delivery. Tough. That's all, just letting me know that they break the contract and have nothing else to say, offer or remediate the problem. 10 days later, no fridge, no call form the store, no one available to reschedule. Calls to Eau Clarie store end up in India, and kind as the call center people in India are, they know nothing of the delivery problem in Wisconsin, USA. In the meantime, old food has rotted, no new food is safe/possible (old fridge remains dead) and no way to contact anyone on the phone. I live north of CF, so that's one hour drive both ways to the EC store. Finally I go there, and the store manager says that a different manager coordinates deliveries, that guy resides elsewhere (?out of state?) and there is nothing he, the store manager can do. No fridge, delivery unknown, maybe in August, maybe not.
SO, then I realize there is a local store, just 5 minutes away, Amundson's. I think, it will cost me a whole lot more, because it is a small local store. But, I need the fridge, so I contact them, after hours. I get a sensible text reply, again after hours, within few minutes. I go to the store next AM, and they have fridges at exactly same price as the national chain. That's wonderful. But they say, two weeks for delivery. Then I say, my fridge is dead, and they reply, well, in that case we will work it out with our schedule and the crew to deliver tomorrow. Shocking, amazing and plain wonderful. AND, Cindy and Mike are there, to help, on the spot, real human beings, effectively my neighbors, totally ready to problem solve. The contrast to the Best Blue Sham could not be greater.
DON'T shop at the national chain electronic and appliance store. You will not get the necessary service. Go to Amundson's: you will pay the same price and you will actually get the most wonderful, old-fashioned, human attention you need.
Thank You...
