Menards has everything you need. I'm a big fan & come very often. The assistance on the floor & getting advice is usually good. A young gentleman was generously helpful last night but when it was time to check out past 9 pm, I was terribly very disappointed. My son & I had to replace another toilet for the 3rd time this same week & not because we wanted to or it was our fault. 1st issue, toilet was broken when we home the box, 2nd time because there was a defect. When we got to Return Department we exchanged toilet again & decided to get vanity among other items, but the desk Lost my receipt. To make it worst, she didn't pay attention to my remarks. I explained I should be getting money back & I didn't want credit at all. She wanted me to leave without a new receipt with the new toilet I'm taking home. Did she not understand I've had 3 failed toilet experiences. I was calm in the beginning but she made me more frustrated wasting 30 min later. I asked for manager & when she came at the end of all this she was uninterested as well. Stared at me like I'm causing a problem. Finally I received a new receipt & my $80 balance that belongs to me which should have been done in the first place. Return Department should be taught what to do in these situations. No professional character in both ladies. They need to be trained properly in different aspects or replace them. I felt I was dealing with children who doesn't have skills & work experience. Why are they placed there? Remember they lost my receipt & they couldn't print me a new one in the beginning for a toilet I paid for, plus I have to constantly request to get My $ back. Workers like them upsets valued customers like me because I have been coming here for many years & spend plenty of money here obviously, when my intentions is to happily shop for my purchases. Not sure if I will come...

Went in to buy a space heater with flame. Waited about 5 mins. for help and finally a girl walked by and paged someone for help on her walkie talkie. 14 mins. later a guy helped me. He was just walking by, he wasn't responding to the page. (so no one ever responded to the page) I know it was 14 mins. because I looked at the time on my cell phone. And the place was very empty, not busy at all! So I decided I would buy a heater that was $140. I told the guy who helped me if I could get a small marked down for all the time I had waited. He looked around and couldn't find someone in the area to ok it. He told me to go to the register and ask for the markdown there. I was asking if I could get it for $10 off. So, they page a mgr. over and he had such an ---hole attitude. I was speaking polite to him and he just says "No. We don't compensate customers for their time." So, what if I had waited 30-45 mins? They are dedicated to service? But I waited 14 mins., after a page, for help and they don't care that you waited unnecessarily (place was basically empty). So the moral of the story: They don't care that a customer just waits, not being helped, and they lose a $130 sell. Not only are they rude (yeah, right. Dedicated to service. HA-HA) they're not to smart either. I called corp. to voice my comment and they want you to mail a letter about it. They don't even want to talk to you about it. Anywhere else you could speak to someone at corp. level, not here. This store will be closing within 2 years! (today's date is: 11/13/14) Guarantee it! And remember me saying the place was empty? I think I know why! In two years they will not only be empty of customers, but of everything...

This Menards location is a hot mess. I needed only a few different types of lumber and it took over 3 hours to located half of them. I had dealt with 9 different employees, all of which didn't know where anything was located. Two of the employees blamed it on the "renovations" that were taking place, but given someone has to be moving stuff around the store this really shouldn't be an excuse.

The employees at this location are very incompetent. It seems like a management and training issue, as many employees I interacted with didn't know how to use the resources at their hand without asking for help.

I contacted management trying to provide feedback in regards to my horrible experience, but haven't heard back from them. It doesn't surprise me, this just reinforces why the employees are so lazy and poorly trained at this location.

I've always loved Menards and have no grudge against them, but man oh man will I be staying away from this location. I'd highly recommend going to the Clybourn store... avoid this store at all cost and you will be...

On this visit, I needed to look at options for installing a simple handrail along three steps. I was ultimately directed to the lumberyard out back, which is much vaster (photo) than one would think from just looking at the front of the store. Here I met employee Bill, who went so totally out of his way to help me out it was mind-boggling. I learned an awful lot from this gentleman--a lot more than he realizes, even though I only bought a couple of boards. After I left Bill to the rest of his job, I went back inside where I encountered another helpful employee, also in Lumber. Alan knew exactly what I wanted and immediately walked me to where it was located. This dude (photo) carried himself and projected his voice like an actor, and I asked him about that. "No, I'm not an actor, Sir," he smiled. "I just take my employee assistance very seriously." Between Bill and Alan, I left the store thinking these young men should be role models for customer service at any store. Thank you, gentlemen!

I so enjoyed my trip to Menard’s. It’s like a toy store for the D-I-Yer. The lighting inside this place was SPECTACULAR!!!! It was lit up like a Christmas Tree. It was magical. I loved it. I’m not a home decorator or a person that relishes in all things home decorating and all that jazz. But with that being said, this store was a fun place for me to be. I loved walking through the aisles contemplating what I could do with the treasures I was happening upon. I couldn’t resist purchasing a few things, great marketing scheme on the part of the marketing department. Everything was properly placed. Checking out was a hybrid of self check out and cashier check out. You put your items on the belt, the cashier scans them, then you pay and bag your items.

This used to be my 'Go to store.' However, recently on one of my visits to stock up on gardening supplies on a windy day my new car was damaged by a runaway cart. I filed a claim and asked the manager why staff were not collecting carts especially on such a windy day. The manager shrugged and said, "I don't know they're supposed to." After filling a claim a representative from Gallagher Bassett, who handle claims followed up wuth a call. She was extremely short and rude with me and simply told me the store wasnt responsible. I stated thar it was a windy day and no staff was attending to the parking lot. She spoke over me and wouldn't let me speak. After she rambled on she hung up on me.
