I lived in Clifton by Ludlow Ave and went to Burnet Woods daily with my dogs, on a run, or just to “escape” the city. The park itself is really beautiful, but it’s a bit tainted by the people who frequent it. There’s normally a group of people who sit by the fountain near the entrance of the park who will not hesitate to make unwarranted comments or stare at you if you are a woman. Those same people (and others) leave their needles, clothes, and trash around the park. I’ve seen it firsthand. I will never forget seeing used needles right next to the trail. It was a reminder that although it can be a beautiful park, it’s still in Clifton.

The park is at its best in the morning. There is a heron that is always there, and the morning dew makes it look like a movie scene. I would not advise going there really any other time of day, ESPECIALLY WITH CHILDREN.

Also, UC ROTC does training there, so you’ll randomly see people in gear walking through the woods, which can be a little weird and off-putting.

Overall, if you live in the area or are already visiting I’d definitely recommend it. However, I wouldn’t go out of my...

Burnet Woods is one gem of a place, especially for University of Cincinnati students. It’s super close by to the campus and also to the student housing communities.

There are benches for you and your friends to sit, chat and relax.

There are three swings which I believe adults are allowed to play on.

Few small hikes that give you the feel of being in a jungle as the place is densely populated by big trees and roughly paved way adds to that experience of being in the jungle.

There’s one small lake as well, staring at the water in that lake is super meditative and will calm your nerves for sure. There are also benches to sit, located at perfect spots for giving you the view.

On a good sunny day, this is a perfect spot for having a picnic with a group of 5-10 people. You can play games, do small hikes, rest on the grass. Plus, skyline chili is 2 minutes drive from Burnet, so food is also covered. This is one unique and great spot close to the city, yet has all the things that a distant out in the suburb park...
