Amazing service and friendly people! I dont know many music shops, and im new to playing instruments. I got my first uke a while back ago at a different shop. It was really cheep and probably looks more like a toy. Well i noticed a screw was loose on one of the tuners. So i searched for music shops near me, and this place popped up. I called and explained the missing screw, and soon i came in the shop. The guy at the counter helped repair my uke, free of charge since it was a minor repair and only took a couple minutes. I bought new strings anyway because someday ill get good at playing the uke and i didnt want to leave without paying something for fixing my uke.
A couple hours later, i got home and i examined the fix. Looked great, then a whole different tuner suddenly fell off! The holes holding the screws were too worn and large. I called the shop again, and i came into the shop asap. Again free of charge for just a couple minutes to repair it. He even made sure to check the others just in case. Once again i bought something to help pay for the services, a uke key/note booklet so i can learn more notes than just F, G, and C from the tiny instruction booklet my uke came with.
I am so happy with their service, and i loved looking around the shop, specially at the other ukes they had. Even tho the uke selection was small for the moment (because ukes are getting popular again) i cant wait to see when they will get more so i can upgrade from...
Read moreI had about 3 or 4 guitar lessons with one of the teachers here, unfortunately i don't remember his name as it was around 2 years ago. I got to say though I really did get alot out of only a few short lessons. the teacher was able to gauge where I was at, in terms of skill, so i didn't feel like i was being told information i already knew, everything he taught me felt fresh and really did help me improve my playing.
I have also had work done on a guitar of mine over on the workshop side of the building. this is why I'm only giving 4 stars instead of 5. so the work being done on my guitar wasn't anything crazy, replacement of tuning machines, gutting of stock electrics and installation of higher quality pickup. now i don't think they did a bad job on it, i just can't call it professional in any sense. the tuning machines got installed crooked and the intonation was disastrous, it played like a pawn shop first act guitar. also the tuning stability somehow got worse despite the addition of decent tuning machines...
but really Im not that mad over it, as it was i believe 40$ for everything except parts. i wish i could of communicated beforehand that i wanted it to be playable when i pick it up, if it would have costed more I'd have payed that. i understand its time consuming adjusting bridge saddles, truss rod, the action of strings. Shouldn't have made...
Read moreI've been shopping numerous places locally to find an acoustic electric guitar (along with on-line, I've been to 4 music stores), and was expecting it would cost me $500-1000 to find something I really liked. I found Tague Music by asking google to find music store near me. I went in to see if they had anything 'd like, and a young guy suggested I should consider adding electronics to my old Art & Lutherie Cedar Acoustic - it made me feel pretty stupid because that had never crossed my mind, and no one at any of the other stores had suggested it. It took them a couple days, and I just picked it up, and it's fabulous -- the sound is crisp, clean and balanced! They also did a basic set up and replaced the saddle. It was great to play before, but now it's even easier. This was under $300!! And I didn't end up having to get a different guitar. I feel bad that I didn't get any names, but the three guys I met were outstanding, and they have a great...
