We were guests at a birthday party here today and the entire thing was awful!! We have 3 kids so we have hosted and been guests at many many kids birthdays over the years and this one was by that the worst experience I have ever had! It started with them sending an email confirmation with the wrong time on the invites so everyone showed up like an hour late. When we got there they had 2 pitchers of soda on the table (that had clearly been there a while) and cups and plates set out for the guests. We all skated around for a bit and then they announced the birthday girls name over the loudspeaker and said it's time for the party. We all get settled into the room and realize there is no pizza, the "party coordinator" comes in and says "would u like us to bring cake and ice cream" and we were like ummm yea but not before the pizzas. She then says that they didn't make pizzas because we didn't book that for the party, we then show her the email confirmation that does in fact show we paid for pizzas. Keep in mind, it's now 2:15pm and they close at 3pm lol so they all start scrambling to make some pizzas and we waited probably 20-25 min for pizzas to come out. While we waited we asked for a refill on the 2 watered down old sodas in the pitchers, but never ended up getting those lol so I purchased 4 large sodas from the food court at 2:30pm right before the pizzas came out. 10 minutes after pizzas were set on the table they brought the ice cream and cake out lol the "party coordinator" sat there in the room with the lighter waiting for us to sing happy birthday, it was so awkward because there was another party signing happy birthday right next to us, so we wanted to wait for them to finish celebrating before we all started singing but she lit all the candles anyways and we all just sat there for like 4 minutes staring at each other lol it was weird lol but this is where things took a nose dive. Up until this point we were all fine, things happen, nobody was upset and we were all just going with the flow. At 3pm they shut the lights off and started making announcements every 2 minutes about needing skates returned and that the session was over (keep in mind the only people left there were people attending the 2 party's) while we are all still trying to plate cake and let the birthday girl open gifts. When they shut the lights off I took 2 of my drinks that I had to pay for up to the snack bar and asked for a refill and this girl gives me the dirtiest look and says "no we are closed" hahaha like the soda machine shut off right at 3 lol I turn back around to walk back into the party room and see 4 or 5 workers cleaning up the party area while we are all obviously using the space. Like I get it, nobody wants to stay late at work, but yall messed up and didn't make the pizzas we ordered, that's why it ran late lol the frustration and hostility was very clear by the way each of the employees were acting. Like we had done something wrong. We were out of there by 3:20 at the latest. The only person that seemed the tiniest bit sympathetic was the party coordinator, she was sweet and apologized for the mix up. But every other person we interacted with all day was incredibly rude and just made the situation...
Read moreit's a hit or miss on any given night depending who's working and how busy they are. I do NOT recommend going on a weekend because the staff doesnt handle crowds well. They don't seem to enforce skating in one direction very well, and i had ordered a full pizza for me and 4 others, but when it was time to pick it up (after paying) they insisted they had to bring it out to my table, but when I told them we were sitting at one of the round bench spot near the arcade games, I was told they didn't allow food down there (no signs indicating this) and the worst part that they couldn't bring us the pizza without having a table, then proceeded to tell me that it was my responsibility to go ask random strangers if they could 'share' a table for 5 of us to eat an already paid for over-priced, getting colder by the second, cardboard pizza. My 2nd major complaint unrelated to the pizza is when I asked a staff member (cashier nonetheless) what the deal was with "kids under 10 skate free" thing I keep seeing on the website, the gal claimed to have never heard of it and rather than going to ask a manager to find out she just told me that they didn't offer any such program. Later to find out MONTHS later that was total BS and they DO honor the kids skate free program, and with 2 kids @ $12ea once/week on average for the last 3-4 months should have saved me well over $300 by now because I trusted the ignorant snobby lying teenage worker with attitude rather than insisting on talking with the manager.. BUT, the manager should be making sure all staff are well informed about such promos in the first place, so that's still on management. One of my kids is almost 10 now, so the only remedy in my opinion is to honor the pass for an extra year until she's 11 now in attempts to give back the $300+ unnecessarily spent since having been lied to about the program. Also, the microphone in the sound system is really bad and you can't ever understand what the DJ is saying, either that or no one ever taught these kids how to speak into a microphone properly with a bit of space between it and their mouth. About the only positive I can say is when I asked for help calibrating a pair of my own new skates I had just bought, they didn't charge a fee but did accept a tip while unfortunately only making my skates worse. I'm really starting to wonder why we keep going back.. lack of local competition I suppose, and my kids love...
Read moreIt's sad that I have to leave a bad review for the place I loved so much as a child; but man, I hope my mom never had to deal with the ridiculously bad customer service this place hands out.
I love roller skating, so once I'm into the place I'm fine with the rink, but it's getting in that is the actual trouble. I have free admission tickets, I still have to pay for everything inside but I'm supposed to be able to get in for free. I've had these tickets for 2 years now because I can never use them when I finally have the opportunity to take my kids skating. It's either not a regular session or, as in my last attempt which was the one that really cemented how much this place bugs me, the place is closed to the public for a special session during a PUBLIC session time with no posting of it on their website or even the building itself. The girl at the front window could only say "it should be on the front page of the website." Well guess what, honey, it wasn't, and I'm pretty sure you knew it wasn't; in fact, I knew you knew it wasn't when you said it. I should have called your bluff right then and there and brought up the site with NO NOTIFICATION OF THE RINK BEING CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC DURING A PUBLIC SKATING SESSION ACCORDING TO THE WEBSITE'S CALENDAR!! But what would that do? It's not like I could force you to replace my gas wasted driving there or to pay for the ice cream I would need to buy to cheer up my devastated kids. It's not like I could demand free vouchers, I mean, I could, but I already have 4 that I can't even use because the rink never accepts them.
So as I walked back to my car with my incredibly upset children and with zero apologies from the establishment and I had to listen to my babies cry and realize that I am as equally angry as they are and I knew that I must come on yelp to warn people of this horrible customer service. But what's really sad, is that people already know how bad the customer service is! And this place is going to keep getting business because they cater to a certain group and that group gets special priority,...
