Terrible experience here. Signed two of us up for a beginner "lesson"- it became clear immediately that out of the group of 16 or so of us, at least half the group was advanced, and you are all mixed together. There is no lesson, you get thrown in immediately with little explanation for technique. I was never able to get up from the take off, and despite the claim on the website that "we guarantee you will get up," there is nothing to back that guarantee up- no priority or extra attention was given to those of us who struggled to get the hang of it, despite being determined to succeed. You spend most of the time (85%) waiting for a turn to even try, behind more advanced people who already know what they're doing. You'd think at the end of the time they would really focus on making sure people who were struggling got more opportunities to try or got to stay longer to fulfill the guarantee, but I guess not. Without warning, you're told your time is up and you have to leave, despite the fact that you never once successfully wake boarded. Got maybe 8 tries, which for the money spent and for two whole hours there, seems crazy. The staff was friendly enough but clearly indifferent to whether you succeed or not. Left feeling incredibly disappointed and misled by what was advertised. It was an overpriced waste of money. Sent an email detailing my disappointment and to ask if this is a normal experience at their park, and no one bothered to get back to me. Clearly about the money here and not about ensuring a positive experience for new visitors, I really wouldn't waste the money, there are lots of fun things to do in Canandaigua...
Read moreVery poor communication. Knowing that we are in COVID times, I called ahead to the wakepark during business hours on 05-Aug-2021 to ask if there were any special requirements going into affect. I was told there was nothing to worry about and to come up (I am a 5 1/2 hour drive away). I drive up Friday night and after checking into my hotel, I figured I save time and see if I needed to do a waiver online. When checking the website, to my shock, it says it is a reservation only park AND that all the tickets were sold out for that day. To cut my losses, I checked out of my hotel a day early and drove back. During my drive back, I called the park to complain about this issue when it opened. To my surprise, they then tell me that their website is wrong and that they can sell me a ticket and that they aren't sold out at all (note, their calendar showed they were sold out for this weekend, but other days were open, so it was tracking). I cannot for anything recommend a park that can't and won't openly and honestly communicate across platforms. I was told that their platform was out of date and incorrect. I will consider changing my review if you properly update your website. Open honest communication is a foundation of any transaction and customer service. To note, I am a frequent rider and have rode at multiple parks this season (Shark 561, MWC, Shark 843, Terminus, Sun West & Trophy Lakes to name a few), I have never seen anything like...
Read moreWe went for my daughter's 13th birthday and purchased tickets in advance as you save $5/ticket doing so. Mind you this was also labor day weekend so what happened next was unbelievable.
After driving an hour and a half to get to the park we were told we'd be refunded half of our ticket price because they didn't have enough staff (ON LABOR DAY WEEKEND) to run the (6 slides?) they have? But we were told repeatedly they were pretty sure at least 2 more slides would open by 3pm. After the kids got tired of the one slide that was opened and the wave pool, 3pm came and went without anything else opening. When we asked if we could get passes for a different day to make up for it we were denied. Honestly either open or close, the half measure only made it worse. At least if they had refunded us completely we would've ended up by the lake for the day instead of waiting for something that they clearly knew wouldn't happen! First and last time to Roseland. An enthusiastic double thumbs down...
