I will no longer order take out. Every single time I have order pick up everything has been ice cold. I’m honestly sick of it. The food is absolutely fantastic ONLY if your eating in and it’s served fresh from the kitchen. The servers are always great an fully accommodating. There are two specific women at the front, possibly managers that always have a trash attitude and when there not being nasty, there beyond fake and it’s uncomfortable. I can only assume the kitchen has absolutely NO COMMUNICATION and it seems to overflow to the front of the house. Ordering to go is like standing in the smoke of a bon fire and not moving, expecting to have a great experience and not. I had a pick up time of 7:17, arrived at 7:20 knowing how busy they typically are. I was approached after letting them know I was there and was told it wasn’t ready yet (as expected). What I didn’t expect tho, was to wait an additional 54 minutes and having to call 9 times until they answered for them to tell me they’ll check, being put on hold for 3 minutes. While STILL WAITING ON HOLD, I was approached with my order. I hung up, drove the 5 minutes it takes me to get home to find every single thing I ordered ice cold. You could tell they made the pizza first and it sat the whole entire time. I want to correct my self, the Mac and cheese was “warm” and being fluent in The BOH setting, this was merely because they bake the Mac and cheese in that aluminum container and possibly the last item made of the order. Fries tasted like they had sat longer than just being in a basket, the “hot” cheese fondue had already started to solidify and was also at room temp…. Need I saw more. Tired of being disappointed over food that is at its prime when served fresh. It’s miserable to dine in because it’s always so packed with locals who fill the bar and over flow to the table to continue to drink and snack on the same 2 appetizers they order for the sake of taking up a whole table. They need new staff and a bigger location to accommodate their customers. You would think you would at least get hot food when you walk away paying $73 on a pizza, fries, chicken tenders, Mac & cheese and...
Read moreToo much competition in the area to give this place a higher rating. The food was ok but the location is in the back of a parking lot and seating is cramped. The menu was filled with a nice variety of apps, pizzas and burgers. Not a fan of the way they do their wings they were overcooked. They have cauliflower crust pizza as well as red and white pizzas. One of the pizzas we ordered came with this massive bubble that made 2 slices just a bubble with no topping Which they tried to make up for by cutting it in the oddest way. Pricing is commensurate with the area.
Experience is important. Here's why they got knocked down to 3 stars. We were 4 big people and they sat us at a small table for 4 even though they had a bigger table and availability. When I asked to be sat at a bigger table, I was refused. When our food came we didn't have enough room to fit it. This wasn't helped by having our apps and entrees served at the same time. Wait staff was overwhelmed. The obviously did not have enough staff to support a busy game day. Waitress kept joking about the wait which didn't help matters. The person who served us our food very unceremoniously just plopped everything on the tiny table. The host was not busy and rarely helped the staff. No one came to check on us or offer us a free drink to compensate for the exceedingly long wait. Apparently they do a healthy take out and delivery service, which they're too...
Read moreElevated pub fare. This place does a great job. The burgers are done well, appropriately charred with fresh toppings and artisan buns. The fries are delicious. Obviously fresh cut with a great seasoning. Probably the best fries available anywhere. The boozy milkshakes are a nice touch, something you don't see many other places. The salads are well constructed. I had a beet salad that had feta instead of the goat cheese you'd typically see on such a dish. Much better with feta. I truly hate goat cheese. But what I really have to tell you about is the star of the show; the French Onion Fukkin Soup. "Wow" is really the only word for it. The stock is perfection. Velvety, smooth, deep, complex, beefy. And maybe I detected a small amount of bacon flavor that made it truly next level. The onions were a perfect al dente texture, the buttered croutons still somewhat crispy with good heft even after a few minutes in the broth. The guyere cheese on top was broiled to a golden brown. I'd go back again and again just for that soup. I really don't think there's a better French onion soup in the Capitol District. Anyway, this place will never get a Michelin star because it's really just bar food, but if you're in the mood for this kind of thing, you'd be hard pressed to do better than this place. The price isn't cheap, but for what you get it's not bad either. A good value overall and I highly...
