If you’re looking for a masterclass in unprofessionalism, the Golden Monkey Lounge in Glens Falls is the place for you. The bartender oh-so-generously offered us shots, then sneakily charged us for them — because nothing says hospitality like a surprise bill. When I called, I was assured the owner would reach out about a refund. Still waiting on that call… maybe they’re sending it by carrier pigeon.

And the general manager? Truly unforgettable. He actually spoke to me on the phone from the bathroom. Yes, nothing says “we value our customers” quite like hearing flushing in the background during a complaint call.

Visiting friends in town and this was an excellent place to meet. We were greeted at the door from behind the bar, so we already felt welcome within the first 5 seconds. We had a variety of cocktails, curated by the bartenders based on our interests. We had a small plate of food to break up the flavors between drinks. Everything we tried was delicious. We went to try the new place in Glens Falls trying to support local businesses. We are always heading to Saratoga for a better experience. Glens Falls so needs more upscale Bars for Mature folks. However I was disappointed!!!! The owners are running under a Mixologist experience and charging higher prices for that experience. But they don’t deliver, I Ordered one of their “Signature Drinks” which was not cheap and was Nothing Special. And I mean seriously Nothing Special.
