There is only one review with isolated complaints... not reflective of my experience in any way. I love the popcorn, with its delicious, unique toppings... and the baked goods are homemade (!) The staff are friendly and care a lot about the venue. Comfy seats and many film choices... which means that some of the theaters are smaller, but it's a small price to pay for the variety; the house is rarely filled to capacity, anyway. The movie selections are outstanding; my urban friends are jealous of the access I have to quality independent cinema.
Even better, this movie house is a not-for-profit endeavor that generously supports the community with donations and service. Cinemapolis is a terrific neighbor in the Ithaca community. My friends and family travel quite a distance to see films here. This is my favorite place to see a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA memoir of what movie theatres used to be. A helpful friendly staff actually interacted with me in person. Shocked by the lack of glass, I almost didn't have the wherewithal, to respond. I couldn't have been happier till I found out they served coffee. Further delighted when they rang it up for $2.50, the cost of a ketchup at a larger theater. Small and intimate rooms, with brilliantly selected movies that can only be seen here. I'm so happy with this place. I hope they can stay open for years to come. The only drawback is the art culture crowd that thinks an experience they are having is more important than general agreed etiquette as the patronage. Shoes were removed and bare feet were hung over seats by my neighboring viewers. Overall joy and excitement to be able to see Loving Vincent a movie that was passed on by the...

Not so! But it was awesome.
Quirky neon, legit vintage-style movie theater from by-gone days.
No frills, old style seating. Far different from the wide comfortable recliner seats at big theaters. Large people probably would be uncomfortable in Cinemapolis seats.
We went to see a Japanese movie that never would have been shown in Binghamton area. This is "the" place to see interesting but not mainstream movies....though there ARE mainstream as well.
One star off for small restroom that badly...
