Kingston Farmers Market — Attraction in City of Kingston

What A Beautiful Spot! Being a new resident here in Kingston & Ulster County (2 months), I really wanted to check-out their Farmers Market. Yesterday my sister Denise & I set out to see what the big talk was all about. Needless to say, we weren't disappointed.

There was a nice array of local farmers & businesses on display & selling goods. It was AWWWWWSOME!!! Lol! There was pizza, kimchee, cheese, raw fish/meats, fruits, veggies, maple syrup, essential oil tinctures, some of the BIGGEST corn on the cobs I've ever seen, honey, and sooooo much more. They even had entertainment; a young singer. He was pretty good too.

My favorite part? The dogs! People brought their wonderful pet-friends, and there were many. There were children as well, and everyone seemed to be having a great time. I loved it. I also met a fellow Jamaican. He was in the fruit section & helped me pick-out some *yummy white peaches & doughnut white peaches - which I never knew existed.

One of the best regional farmer's markets. Huge selection of vendors showcasing locally-grown fruits, vegetables, locally-raised meat, poultry and even fish, bread, pastries, and other farm-sourced products. Additionally, pop-up vendors change every week for even more variety. There are also music performances and community outreach initiatives. Summer market is held outdoors every Saturday, winter market, indoors, every other Saturday. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. A wonderful nexus to catch up with friends and make new ones, learn where your food comes from and interact with people who grow it. And to overall enjoy the immense bounty that lower Hudson Valley...

It’s been a couple of years since I’ve been able to visit this market & I have to say, it’s gotten even better than it was before. The ability to buy locally green beans, flowers, and vegetables year round is simply amazing.

In late April, I was able to buy seedless Concord grapes that has been kept in a coolers since the fall and though they were a little mushy, they were still incredibly delicious. Talk about a miracle!
