Our family visited this park on Tuesday after the fourth of July. If you decide to visit you will need to buy beach passes and a parking pass for the day at the kiosk located just outside of the parking lot. I spent about 50 dollars for parking and beach passes for three people. If you like you can bypass the beach and lay on a very well manicured lawn instead. The grounds are extremely well cared for. The water and waves are very calm. It is the perfect place to take very small children. The sand by the shore is a bit pebbly so you may want to have the kiddos wear water shoes. Children may get a kick of the tiny black fish swimming along the shoreline. When the family gets hungry you can head on over to the snack station located under the boardwalk. Just before you head home you can rinse off at the shower station. There are also bathrooms located just one landing up stairs to the left. This is a beautiful beach to visit. And of course, play land is located about a five minute drive away. I...
Read moreOne of the main reasons that I love this place is that the park is open 24/7.
During the Spring/Summer seasons parking is free after 9p, and all day off-season.
If you can’t sleep, are a night owl, enjoy some star gazing, the sound of water is soothing to you, or you just want to see what Playland is like after hours, this is the place to do that.
[Heads-Up: The deer and foxes are often out and about during the later hours (12a - 4a). ]
There is plenty of space to hang out solo or with some picnic buddies.
Just park the car, walk on the path or the grass towards the beach/Playland, and stroll down the boardwalk, past the Tiki Bar, until you hit the end and can see Long Island. (~1mi +/-)
Is it safe to be there late at night/early morning? In my experience, YES! I’d say during the Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons the local law enforcement are roaming around, inside and outside the park. They are also often parked by Playland’s...
Read moreI was very surprised and dissapointed at the same time with todays visit here. Beach prices went up and its ridiculous now you have to pay at a machine for parking 2 hours now costs $15 4 hours cost double. If you want all day at the beach its $35 this does not include beach fee which is $20 added more per person. We paid a total of $75 [non resident fee] clock starts ticking as soon as your ticket is printed and this machine takes such a long time...so i was running with my grandbabies to get to a spot on the beach. If you yake 2 hour parking you are paying to enjoy 1 hour and 20 minutes cause you gave to allow walking time to the beach then back to the car. If you go over your brought timr there is a $50 fee attached. When we finally got into the beach..the water was disgusting with floating debris. I even saw flossing pics floating amongs a bandaid and a piece of plastic. We are not returning to this beach. Im so...
