Stopped at the Barley, because I thought it may have a nice view of the beach, which it did. However that’s where it ended. From disrespectful staff to watered down drinks to a very limey pasta and a friendly visit from baby Jerry. He left Tom behind it seemed. (For 80s babies) While sitting I saw our waitress asking the server to bring us water and he completely ignored us and serve the 2 tables around us, who just arrived after we did. When I inquired his response was,” it’s not my job to bring you people water”. They forgot the vodka in my Barley Mule, their version of the Moscow Mule. The shrimp pasta tasted as if they drowned it in lime juice, and the fish from the fish and chips was like dried fishy cardboard. All in all I do not recommend the place for food, but I Do think it’s overdue a visit from a health inspector. Sorry Jerry! The view of the beach is spectacular and the fire works display was quite pleasant. Other than that, a complete waste of $200.

The location is lovely, and we enjoyed sitting outside! The drinks were gorgeous, and so were the apps. The service started great but dwindled after the place got busier. The waitress insisted that we put the main order in with our apps - which I'm not particularly eager to do because my biggest pet peeve is when it arrives while we are still enjoying apps and cocktails. Yep, you guessed it, it came quick, and there it sat and the end of our table getting drier by the minute. My husband enjoyed his pasta dish, but I was highly disappointed with the lobster roll and fries. It was dry and horrible -the fries cooked in old oil. I had the best Lobster Roll the previous day at Brennan's in Stamford and wanted to splurge one more time before our weekend getaway was over. Visiting from NJ, we did not feel like welcome guests in Rye overall. Their parking and beach access are ridiculous - we found the same rules in Stamford, so I doubt we'll be back to this area again.

We were about a million years late for our reservation. They gave us not one but two courtesy calls and held our table. That was the first awesome thing in a great experience. I reserved an outdoor table for a large party, the view was beautiful and the weather was perfect. We ordered the New England lobster roll (delicious), the paella (delicious), fish tacos (delicious), the chicken cobb salad (delicious) and fajitas... everything was a hit! For dessert we shared the chocolate mousse cake and the tiramisu. The mousse cake was a huge hit, very creamy and chocolate-y. I would not suggest the conch fritters, that was all filler and no conch and I would avoid the fries. Mine were dry, lukewarm and not tasty. Our server was bubbly and helpful. All in all a really great place for large groups, small groups and even a date.

The barley beach house is located right on the beach. This is a very relaxing place to go especially if you want to people watch. The food was great and so were the drinks. The staff are very accommodating to your every needs. We sat right outside and it felt like a vacation. They had a Modelo sponsorship right outside so everyone got free drinks and swag that day.

Wow! This place blew me away. This place is a serious hidden gem! It's on the beach so the views from anywhere u sit are wonderful! The chairs are big butt friendly and the tables are big enough to order a bunch of things and still have room. Gotta say I was very impressed by this place! The food was really good so were the drinks. I definitely recommend checking them out def wonderful date night vibes!
