Spybaby Bridal and Prom — Attraction in City of Syracuse

Unprofessional and lack of accountability. I had been forgotten for 3 months after my first fitting. I had been told that they would reach out to accommodate my 3 hour commute for future scheduling. If I hadn’t called to check in on my wedding dress alterations a month before my wedding, I never would’ve gotten my dress. When I called, they were already scheduling fittings for weeks after my wedding date. They found a spot to squeeze me in. When I arrived (now 3 weeks before my wedding) almost nothing had been done to the dress. I had paid for customizations that were not done or added to the dress. One woman said she customized veils on the side, and I was very excited by this prospect. But at this appt I watched the veil pieces get handed to the seamstress who had no idea what I originally discussed wanting. I realized my dress was see-through and the seamstress said “no, I don’t see it. It’s not that noticeable.” After being promised multiple times that the cups of my dress could be taken in, at this appointment I was told nothing could be done and to “get a boomba” (a bra insert), despite the fact that the cups were twice my size. Extremely disappointed and lost trust with the shop. I felt I had no choice but to buy a gown elsewhere 3 weeks before the wedding and asked them to stop all work on the dress. I lost over $500 because they force alteration payment upfront with no exceptions. Still to this day, I never received an apology.

I contacted SpyBaby shortly after my engagement and they were able to fit me in on a Saturday morning. I tried on atleast 8-10 gowns and found one that I really liked but I was not ready to commit to that gown yet so we proceeded with the other appointments we had that day at David's Bridal and Aldred Angelo. Later that week SpyBaby let me know that the dress I was interested in was discontinued. I followed up with a later appointment at Spybaby with a few dress in mind that I wanted to see. The owner asked me many questions about my wedding what I liked or didnt like, where it was, when it was, what looks I really liked, what materials I really liked and she pulled a dress that I had seen on Maggie Sotteros website but I really didnt like it on the model online but the dress in person was beautiful. I tried it on and fell in love. I was told it would take about 6 months to get my dress in and I was ordering it the last week in October so we were looking at an April arrival date which was fine because the Wedding is May 25th. Well I called this week to check on the status and make sure everything was ok and would be on time. To my surprise my dress was done and ready to ship from the manufacturer and it actually arrived yesterday. I couldnt believe it almost 7 weeks sooner than expected. After having an absolutely horrible experience at Davids Bridal, we went to Spybaby. When we arrived I was really nervous that they weren't going to be able to get me in because it was a Saturday and everyone was super busy or booked that day. Everyone was very pleasant and accommodating from the moment I stepped foot into the store. They got me right in and were very personable and made sure to listen to exactly what I was looking for. If you love bling then this is the place to go! Absolutely amazing selection of dresses. I was actually a little overwhelmed because they had so much to choose from and all were so beautiful. After all of their amazing customer service and trying multiple dresses on, I finally had the "Say Yes to the Dress" moment. After debating if it was indeed the dress or not, the owner put a veil on me and that was it. I broke down in tears the second she put that veil on and so did my family. Mind you I had other veils put on me that day, and I didn't have that sort of reaction like I did with this one. I knew at that point that was my dress. Needles to say I also bought that beautiful veil with my dress! I can't wait for it to come in and for everyone to see it on our wedding day next year.
