Apizza is a delightful wood-fired pizzeria located in downtown Syracuse, right across from Dinosaur Barbecue. This charming eatery offers a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly captures a European feel, making it a fantastic spot for a casual yet enjoyable dining experience. Despite being a small space, the ambiance is vibrant and bustling, providing an energetic backdrop for a Saturday night out. We were pleasantly surprised by the short wait to be seated, and the service was prompt and friendly throughout our visit. The drink menu features nice options, including cocktails and a succinct wine list that doesn't pretend to be something it’s not—just good selections to complement the meal. We started with some appetizers that were delicious and set the tone for what was to come. Now, let’s talk about the pizza! The thin crust was expertly crafted with excellent development and slight charring, resulting in a perfect texture. The toppings were refreshing and thoughtfully chosen, avoiding the pitfalls of being overly cheesy or oily. It’s clear that the chefs at Apizza know how to create pizzas done right. As someone who has made pizza at home for years, I can confidently say that Apizza is one of only two places in Syracuse where I would consider having pizza—the other being "All Who Wander" in Manlius. Overall, I highly recommend Apizza for anyone looking for exceptional wood-fired pizza in a cozy setting. We look forward to returning soon to enjoy more of their...

Hands down the best pizza in all of Syracuse. Given that I am from Chicago, I think I am a tough judge of pizza and this place is one of the best. They have a really great cocktail menu. All their drinks are hand crafted and their staples are always amazing. I am a huge fan of their Negroni. If your more into wine you'll love the fact that you can order multiple sizes. Wines are always great. They usually have a special on a bottle on Wednesdays. They have a nice selection of local beers. I simply love the food here. It is consistently fabulous. Absolutely everything on this menu is amazing. They put together simple and very fresh ingredients sourced from local growers and farmers. I really love looking at the map of what farms and what locations their ingredients are all from. You definitely need to start with the antipasti bowl or the Cavoletti as an appetizer. Trust me, these are must order dishes. My favorite pizza is the Calabrian but often their seasonal specials will bump it. The Cannerone is another one of my favorite staples. I recommend getting one pizza and this pasta dish and then sharing (hopefully your with someone that doesn't mind). You must also order the chocolate budino for dessert. Just trust me on this one. It is worth it. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. You will see the owner, Paulie, walk around often, saying hello and checking in on everyone. He is very welcoming and hospitable. This place is a MUST stop when you're...

TLDR: Food DID NOT look like the pictures, was entirely too overpriced for how bad it was, and was most definitely NOT worth the wait.

First the drinks, the Coca-cola was so obviously watered down, and it's not like the machine broke, no even when asking about it and getting new drinks they were bland and watery. We also got root beers, and they were glorified birch beer, entirely too sweet and not very fizzy at all.

As for the food, the pizza was tissue-paper thin with almost no cheese, sauce, or toppings and the crust was a big pocket of air, no flavor or substance to it. The meatball appitizer was 5 tiny meatballs the size of your thumb for $2 a piece wnd they were burnt... We ordered two chicken parms and one came out absolutely drenched in sauce while the other was almost dry. The pizzas with toppings were a joke, the tiniest little bits of sausage or meatball which certainly werent enough to be worth the extra money for them.

Finally was the wait and service. The wait was an hour and a half, however we were called more than 30 minutes earlier than the time they gave us, even with our planning to be back early someone had claimed our seat so we had to wait 5 mins after we got back there anyway. Then the service was intermittent, i mean the place only has like 12, maybe 15 tables, how does it take 10 mins just to get a drink or order, it was 3x smaller than any normal restaurant.

Overall, absolutely wasn't worth the wait or money we...

Talk about a well-planned restaurant. Before opening, the owners toured Italy tasting pizzas and examining different wood-fired pizza ovens. They chose an oven and had the manufacturer ship it to Syracuse. Once assembled, they taste tested a thousand pizzas to identify the best ingredients, combinations, and cooking techniques, and only then selected a half dozen or so pizzas to put on the menu. Their meticulous preparation paid off. These are absolutely delicious gourmet pizzas that will have you coming back again and again. There are other items on the menu worth noting including arancini with a tomato dipping sauce for an appitizer, pasta dishes if you're not in the mood for pizza, and the richest pudding I've ever encountered, the chocolate-hazelnut budino, for dessert. The staff are very well trained, friendly, and efficient. They have indoor and patio dining. You can also eat at their attractive bar. UPDATE-1: This time the budino was a disappointment. It tasted like regular chocolate pudding. UPDATE-2: Tried the antipasto salad bowl for the first time thinking it was just a salad. I enjoyed the soppressata chips, artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, and the red wine vinaigrette, but I didn't eat the ferro or the very fatty prosciutto.

This was the best pie I have EVER had! For appetizers we ordered the zucchini fritters, antipasti bowl and meatballs. As for our pizza selection let’s just start by giving Chris (our pie chef) and Mike (our cameriere) a standing ovation for delish food (that made me wanna slap his mama) and excellent service! Mike was kind enough to introduce Chis, and my family and I actually stood up and clapped for this guy! Chris your Spicy Mushroom Pizza was pure JOY, thanks for blessing my taste buds! As for the atmosphere, the tables are evenly placed (6ft apart of course), there was a little bit of a wait (due to our large party we could not all sit together). There is enough outdoor seating, the decor was tasteful and lighting slightly dim. Upon entry I love how you can easily see the pie chefs hard at work and how the bar is placed on the opposite end of the dining area. For dessert we ordered the Budino (chocolate hazelnut Italian pudding), the first one was so good we ended up ordering 2 more! My apologies in advance for not taking pizza pics, we crushed those pizzas!

6/15 Update Went back again to this place in our second Trip to Syracuse . Its a must go place for Pizza We trued the fried Zucchini again along with the Broccoli Pizza and the Mozzarella cheese Pizza . The Boudin is a must to have in dessert . Excellent place for Pizza and a glass of wine. The fried Zucchini is a must in appetizer. The Pizzas are fresh and quality of the dough was really great. Great ambience and great place for dinner if you are in Syracuse . There is a parking in the front and there is parking opposite to the restaurant. The wine was pretty reasonably priced and really had a good vibe. Definitely a great place for dinner Update 5/10/25 Extremely unethical practice as seating is not done when you sign in but by the number of folks you have in the group They do not have a registration system and it’s maintained by writing on a piece of paper and seated at the whim of the person maintaining that cheat sheet If you have three folks in the group you will be superseded by groups with 4 or 5 people even if they come later than you !
