Sept.2022 Update. Italian Style bread remains excellent. Ownership has recently passed down to the next generation. In about one year prices skyrocketed from $2.75 to $4.00 for a one pound loaf. Price of flour has risen 10 to 15 percent. If yeast, salt, water and labor also rose 15%, it would not account for the 45% rise in price. Also, a tip jar for the cashier, who must walk two steps, implies the price increase is not shared with her. Syracuse has many fine Italian bakeries.
