I want to give zero stars. I wrote this email to the CEO and customer service of Michaels and didn't get a response so I posted it on their Facebook page. They removed it and called me to tell me they are sorry for the confusion. I explained to them that I am not confused. A sign is posted interior store stating one thing and they are doing another. I then posted the question "Why was my post removed and that was removed?" Micheals doesn't care about their customers and the value for the costs at the store isn't worth it since they only have 20% off coupons.
This is what the email read:
Once again I have a complaint about your store in cross county Yonkers New York. I made a purchase online for in store pickup. I walked into the store, did some shopping, went over to the self pick up station, found my bag then went to the counter to pay for my other items. When I approached the checkout desk the cashier asked for my name and ID. At first I didn’t realize he was talking to me. I asked why Does he need that information and he said because I made a pick up of an online order. He said I had to show him I’d and sign for the package. In all the michaels stores that I have picked up online items I have never been asked for ID unless the item was brought to me from an employee from behind the counter. I told him that not required and he told me it’s always required. That isn’t true and I believe this is a case of racial profiling. If I didn’t need additional items I would have taken the bag and walked out. If he had a customer he wouldn’t know I picked up a bag and I would have walked out. Asking me for I’d unnecessarily could have gone several ways however I showed him my ID knowing that I was going to send this email of complaint. I am attaching photos of the pick up station that clearly states HELP YOURSELF TAKE YOUR ORDER FROM THE BIN AND LEAVE THIS SLIP HERE. This location is the worst Michaels I have ever shopped. The workers are young and unprofessional, no one is on the floor to help and the checkout line is always long because there only one cashier working. Read moreI went to purchase very thin sheets of cork and a few other items. It took me forever to find anything. I finally found a small roll of the right thickness of cork. The sticker price said $19.00 for 1 roll and $17.00 for another. Clearly, one was thicker than the other. I needed the thinner one. No one to help. One cashier up front and one clerk, who was dressed in a fleece sweatsuit, whom I saw earlier on the floor, but had no clue he was an employee. Not until I went to cash out, and saw him attending to a patron while stand ing behind a cash register bantering with her. She left the store and he left the register and went back to the floor. After waiting in line with one cashier tending, it took a while. Finaly it was my turn, and the drama began. She scanned the cork at $29.00 I told her that was incorrect. She said there is nothing she can do. It is what the cash register showing. Suffice to say, she was a rather young woman, and just doing as she was told. As a matter of principle and not having much time, I left the item for which I went. Yet I know for a fact, when I've gone to the Michael's in the city. There are no shortages of help. When I told her I was going to exchange or return something she came out and told me that if I don't have a receipt I cannot I said I use my number she said that wouldn't work and she only will give me $1 for the items without a receipt.
Then she fallow to sent me away to take care another costumer. I said no charge me for my items first I made the line and you should finished with me and ask my husband to pay for my items and I will see meanwhile if I find the receipt in the bag. I left to get it and Gloria cancel my transaction and took care the other customer.
Being bully and pushed around at this location by the supervisor Gloria was frustrating. I walked out without buying a thing.
I will never come back
I gave it one star because that's the least I can give this location. Due to the customer service.
