It’s hard to believe I am about to get scammed by this center. I had issues with my Mackbook Pro Laptop it’s not powering up So I went to Apple Store at Bay Plaza. I tell the problem and asking them to save my data on my computer while they fixing. They said to me they are not expert for the date recovery, they referred me to this Micro Center . On last Thursday I came to this place give them my laptop with charge ($87.10) to diagnose and same day they text me to pick up the laptop to clean up and give back them to diagnose. I came to pick up my laptop and went to home for cleaning up and then next day I gave back my laptop to them. At afternoon I got a text message from Technician (this is the text I got from them )
“ Hello this is micro center - we have completed diagnostics on your laptop and have found that your issue is with your logic board - the board is $1339 and the labor to install the board is $150 - please let me know how you would like to proceed “
So, they were saying they finished diagnose and found logic circuit problem. Right away I went that place to pick up my laptop and also asked if I go for recovery my Data how much gonna cost for it . The guy on the desk told me $2000 for data recovery. I simply asked the guy to hand over my laptop. He gave me the laptop with open backside lid and the screws attached on lid. I asked to put on the screws. He put the screws without proper alignment of lid. He didn’t put the screws properly that’s why middle side was a little upwards. Then I asked to hand the laptop to me . I fixed the laptop with their tools on the counter desk . I told him you didn’t set it up and you’re saying it seems okay to you.
After getting to home , I was looking some places to repair and I found two places at Fordham Rd. I went to the first place at morning 11:30 AM and told him the problem . He kept the laptop for checking and after two hours he called me he will able to fix the laptop with charge $300 within couple of hours. I agreed with him and gave him permission to proceed. At 6 o’clock afternoon I went to pick up my laptop and got back my laptop the way it was before . I was happy that all the data and others things was safe. I appreciate and told the guy you just save me. I was just wondering this Micro Center how they are treating their customers with higher prices. This Micro center just fooling the customers.
Please make sure , you check others places too before going there. They just wasted my time and money. They just fooling customers specially non-technical .
Unbelievable This “Micro Center”were asking for $1,500
Now I had my laptop repaired by $300 with 100% Satisfaction at a...
Read moreHorrible experience with their tech team.. I had an older HP laptop that worked just fine expect they were glitches with the screen and it only happened when it is first turned on. The first team member didn’t even want to hear my complaint. This team member disregarded it and said pay for the consultation $50 something bucks. Then, I got it back and they said nothing was wrong with it. HOWEVER . the laptop was still glitching now another team member said it might be that I needed a new screen. They changed the screen and I paid 200$ something for it. HOWEVER, the problem Was still there. They offer a new HP instead with a small discount so I agreed. I updated the HP laptop. and paid $600 something to have my Information Transferred. I use it for work and I came to find out the laptop was not uploading anything. I brought it back THURSDAY and ask to speak to a supervisor. They said it was windows and they needed to reinstalled etc. I came today In person Saturday because no one updated me or message me on the progress of my laptop. I came to find out the team member was off for two days and didn’t even finish my laptop. No one told me anything and I was waiting in customer service for 15 minutes with things to do other than being in microcenter. I asked to speak to the store manager to informed him about how customers are treated. The store manager never showed up to speak to me. How disappointing. I will be emailing corporate. The team member ended up fixing my laptop after I asked to speak with the manager. And the team member asked for 285 for the service. I told this team member I am not paying this for people who do not know what they are doing. I left. I’m taking any technical issues to Best Buy instead. The lack of communication , lack of knowledge, and lack of compression those team members have is insane. Please do not come to this place you will waste...
Read moreMy recent visit to Micro Center left me thoroughly disappointed with their lack of knowledge when it comes to PC building. As someone well-versed in the world of technology, I had high hopes for their inventory, especially when purchasing a gaming PC for my son. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of my expectations.
Upon entering the store, a salesperson approached me and offered assistance. I eagerly accepted, hoping to receive valuable insights on PC inventory. However, it quickly became apparent that the salespeople and technicians lacked the necessary knowledge to provide accurate guidance. Despite my specific requirements for premium gaming components, the limited supply of certain brands seemed to complicate matters.
Throughout the conversation, it became increasingly clear that the salespeople were attempting to sell me parts that did not meet my specifications for a high-performance gaming PC. As someone with expertise in the field, I couldn't help but feel frustrated by their lack of understanding. After enduring 25 minutes of misguided advice, I made the decision to leave the store.
Ultimately, I turned to other sources to acquire the parts I needed, and Amazon provided a far better alternative. Not only did I find the desired components at competitive prices, but I also had the opportunity to build a top-tier system, including a remarkable Founders Edition Nvidia graphics card. While I don't mind investing in quality products, I do expect knowledgeable assistance when seeking guidance.
It is concerning that the salespeople at Micro Center appeared to lack certifications and struggled to answer my questions. For individuals seeking reliable information and assistance for building a PC, I would caution against relying solely on the staff at this...
