WORST Car Buying Experience – Dishonest Pricing & Manipulative Tactics I visited this dealership on Saturday around 3 PM, hoping to buy a car. What I experienced was incredibly frustrating and misleading from start to finish. The advertised price was a trick — it only applied if you traded in a vehicle AND financed through them. If you didn’t do both, the price instantly jumped $4,000. Then they added things like inspection fees, document fees, dealer fees, etc., totaling another $3,000. So the car ended up costing $7,000 more than the advertised price. I told them I could only meet them halfway and offered to cover $2,000 of the difference, but they refused and insisted I pay $3,000 more. Then the salesperson jokingly suggested a coin flip to decide. I couldn’t believe it. I actually have a video, photos, and a handshake of this moment. I lost the coin toss and reluctantly agreed to pay $3,000 extra. We both confirmed the deal on paper: agreed price + tax only — no other hidden fees. I paid the deposit with my debit card, they ran my credit (which was perfectly fine), and I also set up my car insurance. But when I got into the finance room, I was shocked to see the contract showed $4,200 more than the agreed price! They had basically taken off the price in one place only to add it back through bogus financing charges. I challenged this, and after a back and forth, the finance manager took off $1,800 — but it was still not the deal we agreed to. I told them I could get my own loan with a lower APR and no hidden fees. They claimed the bank was charging them these fees, which made no sense. Eventually, the general manager came out, and they took off another $1,400. Even then, I was still $1,000 over the agreed amount. They said they couldn’t do more and that they’d already “lost money.” At this point, I had already paid a deposit and had my credit run, so my credit score took a hit for no reason. Now they say they’re refunding the deposit, but the damage is done. This is not how business should be done. If you agree on a deal, take a deposit, shake hands, and run a customer’s credit, you do NOT change the price later and try to sneak in extra fees through financing. This was a 4-hour ordeal — I left the dealership around 7 PM feeling disrespected and scammed. I’m sharing my experience so others can be warned. Just because you think a deal is sealed, doesn’t mean they won’t try to change it at the last second. Be extremely cautious, ask for every fee in writing, and don’t trust a handshake alone.

We decided to drive the 4 hours, which they were aware of. 10 minutes from our arrival we see the listing had been upped to 31,050. When we arrive we say nothing about the change in listing and check out the car. The car was not in great condition. We confirmed yet again the price with the sales rep and she said 24,775. We were willing to pay this. We went in to discuss the details of the financing and they told us they had a 3000 pre inspection fee, plus additional fees (we didn’t catch the name of). The sales rep sat on her phone during the talk. Very unprofessional. The manager came over. We said we talked to somebody on the phone and she told us it was 24,775 out the door. They said “well she’s just the secretary”. I let them know they shouldn’t be putting her on the phones to handle these things. They then said that 31,050 was the accurate price and that it was a “typo” after we spoke to multiple people on the phone who confirmed the price along with the vin number when we filled out our credit application. From Quality Service & Inventory, to an over-accommodating approach to earning their customers’ business, Yonkers Auto Gallery is Top Notch and Yusef, Rashid & Tim are the best of the best! My wife and I have been shopping the market throughout the tri-state area for the perfect car, with the perfect specs and knew we would fall short in some aspect or the other but that’s where these three individuals continued to go out of their way to make it all work for us. Tim was extremely knowledgeable by far, one of the most personable, professional & accommodating sales people I’ve ever met. Yusef made sure that he took countless time out of his busy schedule to address all of our concerns and ultimately put together a deal that finally made sense for us but more Importantly…. made this attainable. Rashid wrapped up the back end by ensuring that all went smooth with the financing. This is the part of the deal where things always seem to take a wrong turn at other dealerships but he made sure that we walked out with the best rate and even fought for a better one right in front of us! Together, these three gentlemen made our dream car into our reality, and we couldn’t be happier with Yonkers Auto Gallery and its amazing staff! BUY YOUR NEXT CAR HERE… Trust me, it’s brutal out there but these guys will take care of you.

Terrible experience!! After confirming the appointment 2 days prior and again the same day of the appointment and after confirming the price and the availability to purchase the sprinter Van with their sales representative Ana, by 2 phone conversations and few emails back and forth and the intention to purchase and drive the Van home before taking that long Drive from Maryland to New York which was 5 hours plus almost 2 hours in traffic totaling 7 hours on the road to pay in full by cash or financing only 5 or 10% of the final price which would be good for my credit anyway. So I get there after almost 7 hours on the road and wait for about 35 minutes for the sales person to show me the Van and I found out that even if we close the deal today I can't really drive the van because it's not ready yet!!! Because it hasn't been serviced yet and even after they service it they have to do other work done which I had to mention to the sales person about the huge oil leakage coming from the oil pan when he started it which can easily be seen dropping on the ground Also by me examining the van I saw 4 very visible cracks on the windshield which means no way the van would pass the inspection plus the rear tires poor condition and a very visible bad brake pads on all 4 tires needed to be replaced Not only that but they didn't even have the kindness to even wash the Van before I got there and they sure had plenty and plenty of time to do that very simple thing which is a very simple part of their job. And the worse part to be honest is when the sales person had me waiting after that for 2 hours and 15 minutes for a false promise that his service personals will magically take care of all that while we talk the sale contract over except for the windshield have to be done later, which they should at least know about it before they put it up for sale on their own website and other. Which the service people never showed up and the Van never moved while I was waiting!!!!! And he had the audacity after not apologizing but blaming his online representative for what happened he had the audacity to add almost $4000 to the original price of the hidden fees which one of the fees made me really laugh is $1825 as he said for washing the cars and keeping the lights on!!!!!! So I said but you didn't even wash the Van??!! So what are talking about???!!! Lol I mean I'm sorry but I never wrote a negative review before even when I should because I understand that mistakes happens in any business but this time it just unbelievable how they have no respect to people feeling time and effort And from what I saw and explained they don't even have respect to thier own business and customers. Terrible Experience at Yonkers Auto Gallery - Buyer Beware This dealership has been the most frustrating place I’ve ever dealt with when buying a car. The price listed on their website was much lower than the final price, which included several unexpected charges that raised the total by thousands. Additionally, they offered significantly less for my trade-in than what other dealerships like CarMax valued it at. I also had the full amount ready to pay by debit card, but the manager strongly insisted that I finance part of the car price, even though I repeatedly asked to pay everything upfront. In the end, I felt pressured into agreeing because my son liked the car. This resulted in a $3,000 finance charge, which the manager claimed was from the finance company. However, when I later spoke to the finance company, they said they never received that charge. It appears the dealership added this fee during the sale process. To add to the frustration, the paperwork process has been incredibly slow, waiting more than a months to send your license plate and registration. When I reached out for updates, I was given vague responses and delays. In summary, my experience has been full of stress and frustration. I would recommend avoiding this dealership and looking elsewhere to avoid similar issues.

I stand by my review and hope that future customers can learn from what I went through. First, I did not request a $4,000 reduction in the vehicle’s online price. My goal was simply to receive a fair price without unexpected or unclear fees. The main issue was that the final price presented to me was significantly higher than the price listed online, with additional fees that were never clearly explained and amounted to thousands more. The conversation about paying the full amount upfront via bank transfer or debit card was to avoid the finance charge that I was not expecting. This charge was an added cost that came as a surprise during the process. Regarding the trade-in value, I was aware my vehicle had been involved in non-fault accidents, and I appreciated the initial offer of $11K. However, later discovering that the same car was sold for $22K made the disparity between the trade-in offer and the resale price feel disproportionate. Terrible experience. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone interested in professionalism or honesty.

I had a 3pm appointment and once I arrived, the representative informed me that the car I was interested in and made the appointment to see was at another location and would take roughly 1 hour to get to this location due to traffic. This was the first red flag as they had called me at 10 am that day to confirm my appointment. So they had hours to have the car in the right location.

I gave them the benefit of the doubt and said we would go grab a bite to eat while waiting and to please call me when the car arrived. 1.5 hours passed by, and I did not receive a call, so I called back and they said that due to traffic it would be another 30 to 45 minutes (18 mile distance between the 2 locations - queens to yonkers). This was the 2nd red flag. I was also checking the GPS and it said that the ETA between the two locations was 40 minutes, suggesting that the car didn't even leave the location in Queens to travel to Yonkers despite being told otherwise.

I was very frustrated at this point and told the sales rep that if the car wasn't there in 30 minutes, that I might not be interested in the car due to waiting so long, but that I would call back in 30 minutes to check on the status of the car. I called back in 40 minutes, and they said the car wasn't still there and that when talking to the driver 15 min prior that it would be an additional 53 min due to traffic. After pushing on this point, the representative reluctantly admitted that they didn't want the car at the Yonkers location and then had the audacity to question if I'm was/am still in the market and interested. If I wasn't, why would I drive over 1 hour from Jersey to NY and then wait around for over 2 hours past the appointment time to see the car??

Rather than apologizing and taking ownership of their error, Yonkers Auto Gallery just questioned my intent to buy. My guess is that they had 0 intention to actually get the car to this location and were stringing me along from the beginning. Why not be transparent and just ask me, at either the morning call to confirm the appointment or when I got there at 3pm, to please just go to the other location in Queens rather than say they could get the car to the Yonkers location.

Overall, Yonkers Auto Gallery is extremely unprofessional. I strongly recommend to future customers to look at other businesses when conducting your car search due to Yonker Auto Gallery's dishonestly and utter lack of respect for their...
