I recently purchased a used car from Yonkers Auto Mall, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Despite assurances that the car had undergone necessary servicing and was safe to drive, within just two days of ownership, I encountered significant issues that raise serious concerns about the dealership's practices and customer service standards.
Firstly, upon taking possession of the vehicle, it became evident that the promised services had not been adequately performed. The battery required a jump start shortly after purchase, indicating a lack of thorough inspection and maintenance prior to sale. Additionally, it was evident that the oil change sticker had not been updated, suggesting a neglect of basic upkeep procedures.
Furthermore, the promised detailing of the car was not carried out, leaving me with a vehicle that did not meet the standards expected from a reputable dealership. Along with car mats that are missing. I went personally to get a inspection because the check engine light went on and I went to their person and of course they just slapped a passing inspection knowing something was wrong and missing. Since I knew I couldn't trust them I got my own inspection and learned that the O2 sensor was bad and could have caused damage to my engine. I'm very wary if anything was done when I left my car to get "serviced" for the 2nd time because all fluids were low. Another finding was that my tires barely have grip which I got checked and was told they will only last me 3 to 4 months. As per warranty my vehicle should be safe and all of these problems I'm coming across makes me feel like the vehicle isn't in safe conditions and should be revised by the dealership themselves but I was told that nothing can happen now.
Communication with the dealership staff was another point of disappointment. Interactions with workers [Chad] especially were unpleasant and unprofessional, making the already frustrating experience even more so.
To add to the dissatisfaction, the finance department's insistence on soliciting positive reviews felt more like a desperate attempt to mask the dealership's shortcomings rather than genuinely addressing customer concerns.
Ultimately, the lack of attention to detail and professionalism exhibited by Yonkers Auto Mall has resulted in considerable inconvenience and concern for my safety, particularly as a parent responsible for transporting my child. The repeated back-and-forth to ensure the car's safety has been both time-consuming and disheartening.
In conclusion, my experience with Yonkers Auto Mall has been deeply disappointing, and I would caution others against entrusting their automotive needs to this establishment. Improved transparency, accountability, and a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction are sorely needed to rectify the issues I have...
Read moreI’ve since edited my review due to the response below. Regardless what I’m paying for the car, Gina reassured me I could refinance and that wasn’t the true. The vehicle was clearly never inspected. You’re company should pay for all issues especially three days after purchasing and your company never replaced any of the tires.
Im glad I didn’t write a review as Gina urged me to so so while I sat in their office way back in june.... It’s taken me some time to write this review but I felt it was imperative to share my experience. Do NOT buy your car from this dealership. Do NOT listen when Gina tells you that you can refinance because with capital One they do not refinance thier own auto loans. Background- I received a letter from capital one, my current car had just died, so I decided I would look further into the capital One offer which refered me Yonkers Auto Mall. I made an appointment to view a Honda CRV. Everything was cool, seemingly good customer service etc. I do not have great credit, so I spent my Saturday there while Gina tried to get me approved. They told me I couldn’t get approved for the Honda but I could get the Nissan Rogue... the Nissan Rogue 2013 that they sold to me for 16000 and I now owe 30000 for with a broken differential, ripped apart front arm of the suspension area, bald tires, and after I drove away the armoral faded and then the interior was caked with what appeared to be woman’s make up. I’m definitely to blame for being so desperate for a car but Sal, Anthony, Gina, and Wally are all frauds. They would agree to fix this or that but always give you the run around ins around. Go here to take here. They gave me a run around to fix the differential which Nissan ended up paying for but only under the condition Yonkers Auto Mall would replace all four of the tires because that will wear out the differential, they agreed to burn once I arrived Anthony said he would only take replacement two tires .... they’ve even once said I’d have to go to Long Island for a repair...
just save yourself the trouble and go to a real car dealer, Nissan on Central Ave hasn’t made a dime off me and showed me more compassion and provided more help than these people. They got me good and I’m to blame but hopefully others will learn from my experience. Don’t let your credit issues prevent you from going to a reputable dealer, they will help you as well. Yonkers Auto mall takes advantage of hard working...
Read moreIf the product sells itself, does one need a salesperson? My experience yesterday at Yonkers Auto Mall was lackluster. Virginia, my saleswoman was very indifferent during the whole experience. She was dull, her energy pretty low. There was not one statement she made pertaining to the vehicle that gave me more insight. Oh, actually she said that they do not cover any body work after I discovered scratches on the vehicle.
Everything I knew about the vehicle was learned beforehand, before I came to the dealer. Given the quantity of their vehicles I had no expectation for her to know a lot of details about the vehicle. But not knowing what kind of transmission is in the vehicle? That is child’s work.
During the test drive, I was making comments but she was more occupied by her phone. She was literally on a phone call while test driving with a potential buyer. This turned me all the way off.
I did not arrive by chance. My appointment was scheduled days before. There was more than enough time to learn a little bit. My credit wasn’t that good going in there. Towards the end of my visit Anthony said they can try and see if they can get me 0 down payment, once that idea fell through, the energy dipped down more. I was approved by the CU’s. And before I arrived I had my down payment limit set to 7K. Virginia tells me the terms of some offers. The other was a 6K but I do not know the monthly payment. She said she would follow up. She did not.
I am tempted to call them because I really want the vehicle. There is a strong feeling in my gut that once I sign and give them that money, the indifference will get worse on their end.
Maybe Virginia seen that I knew about the car and didn’t bother to add more info. I do find this hard to believe since she did not know which parts on the vehicle were still under warranty- No preparation was done for our interaction.
In short, if you want to buy a car and you don’t know about cars, please do your personal research. They want to make sales which I get, but damn, that was a tacky experience to say the least.
