I went to the Yonkers Honda Service Center. In short: I believe they intentionally bent a connector pin in my tail light and tried to scam me into buying $1400 worth of services to fix it. I cannot definitively prove it, but I believe I was almost a victim of fraudulent business practices. I recently bought a used car in Pennsylvania and came here to get a NYS inspection. My service person was Joshua Taveras. He told me that the car did not pass inspection because one of the tail lights was not working. I bought the car from a dealership that bought it from the Manheim auction in PA where the vehicle report stated no issue with the tail lights. Additionally, many eyes have been on this vehicle, and the dealer checked all the lights before selling it to me. I even remember thinking the tail lights on the car looked great from the back. So this was very suspect. I took the car home and looked at it myself. Sure enough, the bulb on the reverse light was blown and the left tail light was not working. I replaced the bulb but could not figure out the issue with the tail light. However, I removed the tail light and tested it on the working side, and the LEDs lit up, so I knew the tail light assembly was fine—it was a wiring issue somewhere. Since I couldn't figure it out, I took it back. After dropping off the car, Joshua later called to tell me that I had faulty aftermarket wiring throughout the car and that they would need to remove paneling in half the car to replace it all—to the tune of $1400. $1400 to fix a tail light? BTW—the car DOES NOT have aftermarket wiring, that's a complete lie. I pushed back for more details about what the real issue was on why the tail light didn't work—after all, EVERYTHING else works so all of the wiring isn't bad, he just needed to trace the wire. He said he had to get more details and call me back. Next call he says: while I have faulty aftermarket wiring, the real problem is that the tail light assembly needs to be replaced. I probed for as much detail as possible before revealing that I tested the tail light myself and it works just fine; the issue is not with the tail light. I pressed for an actual picture of where the issue was. He followed up later with a picture of the real issue—a bent pin on the connector to the tail light. This seemed like the real issue, so I picked up the car. They waived the $289 diagnostic fee. I've attached a photo of the issue. Come to your own conclusions, but I find it highly unlikely that a single pin in a 2-pin connector could get bent back like this while connected. It all seems suspicious: trying to sell me a $1400 rewire of the vehicle, then walking that back to $720 for a new tail light, then the real issue is just a bent pin? In 60 seconds, I removed the panel and bent it back into position with a flathead screwdriver, and now the issue is fixed. I believe they tried to scam me and bent the pin themselves, knowing that I needed an inspection and had just bought the car used. I'm sure not everyone will have this kind of experience, but knowing that this is even a possibility, I would advise you to take your car elsewhere.

Better later or late than never…. I don’t normally post reviews but in this case of having dealt with my salesman, GERSON PEREZ, I would have submitted a review on the day I purchased my Honda SUV a few days ago but I did not have time to as I had pertinent, time consuming family matters to deal with no sooner than I drove off the lot. However, I refused let this first day of the New Year 2024 🎆pass fully without me letting it be known that Gerson was simply AWESOME 🤩 , very helpful, patient, understanding, knowledgeable, professional and so down to earth which made me feel comfortable & somewhat trusting of him and the Yonkers Honda dealership. Everybody employed there that I spoke to or dealt with was awesome!!! Though I was a bit upset that the SUV I saw online which is why I went to the Yonkers Honda dealership in the first place was not available that day, it quickly dissipated when Gerson let me know that then he apologized and showed me that he cared by continuing to be an awesome salesman to me even more so and therefore that made me want to look at other SUVs, especially one particular vehicle he mentioned to me and it was there and readily available for purchase and it was equally impressive if not better that the one that led me there initially. Gerson showed it to me, he patiently explained the features, how to do & undo certain features, etc. Honestly I don’t really trust ANYBODY and I did give Gerson and other Yonkers Honda reps a little bit of a hard time in the beginning (though they said I was not a pain in the you know what) the way Gerson conducted himself as my salesman and him letting me know that he does not want me to leave without having had a great buyer’s experience and a new vehicle, thanks to his tenacity I bought the SUV that I love so far🥰!!! If you want an excellent buyer’s experience and a great vehicle then go to Yonkers Honda and ask for GERSON PEREZ!!!

I had recently bought a car from Yonkers Honda in May. The sales person who helped me, Juan, was great very patient and kind. However the finance manager, Landy sold us on a lease match program which he assured would be a great deal. One of the things covered were chips/cracks in the original glass. Unfortunately, I did get a chip in the windshield which after I contacted Yonkers service center and they told me that they do not see that coverage on my profile after speaking to a receptionist, manager and advisor. I contacted the insurance company that provides the lease match and they told me to contact the person I purchased it from. I called Yonkers Honda and Juan answered and asked for me to send the brochure that Landy provided to us. I emailed him a photo of the brochure and Landy holding it. After, Juan told us that Landy is on vacation and would be back tomorrow. I asked to be transferred so I could leave him a voicemail asking for him to call me back when possible. Days passed and I still had not received a call back. I called again and asked to be transferred to Landy again and left a voicemail again. I still have not been contacted and my chip is getting bigger. At this point I can not recommend Yonkers Honda to anyone which is a shame since my parents and my boyfriend are looking for new cars. I also work in retail sales and I understand that following up with customers after you sell them something and they are requesting to speak to you is essential to a sales model. I’ve tried to be accommodating and understanding however as a loyal customer who’s purchased multiple cars with you, I cannot understand why I am being treated this way. It has now been a week and I still have not received a call back after multiple voicemails left. I have attached a photo of the brochure that Landy gave to me.

Raul is #1. I bought my car on August 9th but am writing now because I just got back from a two week road trip to Colorado in my new car. It felt so good to be on the open road again. And…. Zero car issues on my trip!

I went to Yonkers because I was really getting frustrated dealing with the Honda dealerships here in Brooklyn. The best thing about Yonkers… they will give you a total walkout price right there on the website. The first thing I asked Raul was if they’d stick to that price and he estimated my tax and said yes. No hidden charges! The only big decision I had to make was about if I wanted a warranty.

I have to admit I am a bit high strung… (especially after dealing with the Brooklyn Honda dealerships) but Raul was calm, cool and collected. I’ve never met a calmer car salesman in my life. He mainly left me alone to check out the car, talk to my bank, and think for myself.

When I did start asking him questions he knew everything… (like that Honda used soy based plastic in some places under the hood). He then drove me to my bank so I could get a certified check. He explained that Yonkers Honda is family run in its second generation. Ask him about the antique car in the showroom. Anyways, there is a certain Yonkers pride to do right by people and that spirit is alive at Yonkers Honda and Raul is top notch.

Everyone else that worked there was lovely as well ( I think I even got the financial guy to crack a smile). The service department put my new plates on and put a big red bow on my car so after I signed my last paper it felt like Christmas in August seeing MY car for the first time.

I have a years worth of free oil changes and maintenance. I can’t wait to use them and go back and see everyone at Yonkers Honda. I’m gonna wait for a day that Raul is working though because I now consider him a...
