Bought I watch here in September for a friends 73rd birthday. Gave it to him, only to be mortified when he called a week later to say the watch didn't even work (beyond embarrassing). Apologized and told my friend to hold onto the watch until I could get it back. He lives in Jersey, I'm in Manhattan, wasn't able to see him again until Dec. Got the watch back, went to the store with the receipt. Saw the owner first, explained to him it was a gift and didn't work. Before I could even say please just credit back my card for the watch, owner said "probably just the battery" takes the watch to the back, then the person who sold it to me came out, told her what happened - at least she acknowledged how embarrassing must have been, apologized, said she felt bad, and said she'd check on the watch. Finally, a third person comes out - and topped off the experience. When (after explaining again what happened) I simply politely asked if I could just return the watch for credit (as it would understandably be embarrassing to try to "re-give" a gift that didn't work the first time). First, immediately responds with "Oh no, you can't get credit for this" (as if it was absurd to ask for a credit back on a gift item that didn't work), then, in what appeared to be a petty, ignorant, (and very offensive) effort to justify her response, actually says "this looks like it's been worn already." Beyond the fact the watch, nor the band had a blemish on it, the band was still in a fixed "round position" from being around the holder in the box all that time. Immediately corrected her insinuation. Again, a pathetic, ignorant, accusatory insinuation to try to justify an intransigent position rather than working with the customer. ...
Read moreI have known the family since Pelham Manor off Boston Post Road, Uncle Gus, Chris & Michelle always treated my friends, family and myself as one of their own! Now fast forward to 2019, the new location on Central Park Avenue which is a shop that is comparable with some of the best in Manhattan without the traffic and arrogance! I have to start off with the staff as you enter, the girls greet you as family when you come inside. Kristina and Alexis are by far the sweetest ladies you could ask for! If you go in on a cold day with the family they treat you like Royaly! especially with the children if they happen to be with you, always caring for everyone and getting the little ones hot chocolate to make the adults experience that much better and keeping the children happy and making them feel important! Especially for the important gifts for the significant others in your life! I can’t forget the guys that always come through when you need some special jewelry repaired, cleaned, polished or just a watch battery replaced! Naresh and Hector are great and never look bothered when asked to do something! I can’t stress enough about people nowadays being selfish and self important! You can’t put a price on relationships like my circle has with them, the Papas Family will always be a part of my family! The people reading this long winded review that don’t know the folks at Gold City should get to because, it is one of the only good decisions you could make to get taken care of like family and not a number like the rest of the other so called high end shops with the cheesy commercials...
Read moreI visited "Papa Gold city Jewelers" recently and was totally impressed with my experience there. From the moment I walked in the door, I was greeted warmly by the staff from the minute I walked in the door that immediately made me feel comfortable. The store has an elegant but cozy atmosphere, and the friendly but not overbearing staff is always on hand to assist you.
The customer service was top-notch. The staff was knowledgeable, offering information and suggestions while ensuring that all my questions were addressed. Their professionalism and courtesy actually made the shopping experience better.
One of the positives of "Papa Gold city Jewelers" is its impressive variety of watches and jewelry. If you feel like something contemporary or classic, the variety is rich and abundant. It goes without saying that they've put a lot of time into carefully selecting and curating with caution.
Adding to the store's unique personality is a coffee and drink bar. The amenity allows customers to sit and grab a beverage while they shop, adding to the enjoyment of the experience.
But the best part of my visit was certainly getting to meet Cookie, the adorable store dog. Cookie adds a personal touch to the shopping experience, and her bubbly personality makes the store feel more like a community.
Overall, my experience at "Papa Gold city Jewelers" was beautiful. I truly recommend this store to whoever is looking for a great and interesting...
