Alex Waldbart Florist & Flower Delivery — Attraction in Clayton

Chose this florist based on good reviews. Ordered two bouquets well in advance for our daughter’s college college graduation. Discussed with the florist that we wanted different bouquets for two events for the same person, and that it was important that the flowers not be ones that were poisonous to cats, and named several flowers I knew to avoid. All sounded good, I was promised two beautiful bouquets, and agreed to pay $150.

Went to pick them up today on arrival in town, and both bouquets were identical, but more importantly filled with lilies and carnations, two extremely toxic-to-cats flowers I’d specifically asked to avoid. I gave them time to rework the bouquets, and arrived to pick them up. They’re fine - still pretty much identical and not as full as they were initially, but fine. I asked [a different staff member was there this time] if they could wrap the bottom of the stems as they had been originally to protect them until I could get them in water. I was told I’d have to pay additional for that.

Just not a great experience overall. I expected that notes were taken during my initial call that would translate to whom ever assembled the bouquets, and I also would have expected a little special care after the mistake. I could have done as well at a good supermarket for a lot less, and gotten a plastic sheet for the bouquet...

Overall, my experience with them was amazingly perfect. Claire listened, made suggestions based on what she heard from me and made sure she knew my vision. She made the process as seamless as humanly possible. I’m forever grateful I found them!

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY! Let me tell you. Claire is a SAINT. She was THE calm in crazy storm that arose on our wedding day. She went ABOVE AND BEYOND the expectations of our florist on our big day. Not only did she and the staff create amazing gorgeous bouquets, boutonnières, center pieces, and bursts for around the fireplace, she calmed me down after a very unfortunate incident with a horrible coordinator, fixed my train and walked behind me during my entrance with my train! Alex Waldbart Florist is excellent in every way!

Last spring, I made the mistake of ordering and PAYING, online, for flowers for mother's day from what was billed as a "Clayton store," only to have them email me on mother's day to say they couldn't make the delivery. Turns out I was duped by a national chain that simply takes the orders (and our money) and fobs the orders off onto someone else. I called Alex Waldbart Florist in a panic and spoke with Tony, who took my last-second order, arranged something magnificent, and made the mothers all happy!

I've kept them bookmarked for the last six months and just called to order birthday flowers. Wonderful customer service, had our last delivery in their records to say what they'd done, and had some terrific suggestions for me today.
