Today was a special day, It is My daughter quince photo shoot and I decided to take my family for a nice breakfast, to this place I been coming here for over 20 years especially late at night. I was sadden because I was not greeted with the kindness I normally get. I ordered eggs over hard and that was my mistake and the reason why I did not ask for it to be replaced. Also, I was in a hurry. The first server asked me three times if I wanted to change or fix it, I said NO thank you just leave it like that. Then I ask for banana and the original server asked the Spanish speaking server Mailin, to go over to my table to ask me in Spanish what was wrong. That alone was disrespectful given I was talking to her in English the entire time. but that was not my issue! Mailin asked what the matter was? Again, I said no nothing leave it like that is fine. she asked two more times then she look at me and said "Hay Que Perra"(in English it will be what a B). I said excuse me? As she walked away, I went to the front, and I asked for a manager. As I was waiting, I could see Mailin the server talking to someone on the back saying "Yes I did said it and I don’t care" when the manager jeff came out he had a confrontational attitude extremely nasty with a loud voice. He asked me what happened and said his two servers said I was being difficult. I said, “are you going to let me explain because he just kept talking over me, I told him your server call me a B. He was very condescending and disregarding he said again well I was told you were being difficult. Which I don’t consider I was. Also, not an excuse for his server to insult me in front of my family and other customers. I ask, aren’t you going to apologize? so he then said yeah sorry. He never ones said "Listen I heard what happened I am deeply sorry; this is not how we treat our customers what can I do to make it up to you? He flat out took his employees side even though she was in the wrong, If he would have said that to me I would have sat back down and finish my meal but no he made it even worse I demanded an apology from the server he refuse to call her after a while he called her and she flat out lie and said she never said anything. I ask the manager to go and talk to the people seating next to me who heard what she said and understood her because they spoke Spanish. but he refused, I asked for the corporates number he told me to google it. I asked again he pointed me to the number at front of the door I called and when I was on the phone, he said loudly even the phone customer service agent heard him say you are being dramatic. The agent was very apologetic, and she opened a case for me the manager kept asking me to leave. Instead of deescalating the situation he made it worse. I told Jeff in my job if I was ever to say something like that to a customer, I would get terminated, to what jeff said that is none of your business that is my decision to make. Both Jeff and Mailin are extremely unprofessional. I really hope something is done about this. Because this is not how customers...
Read moreAs we entered Perkins, the soft glow of ambient lighting immediately enveloped us in warmth, hinting at the comforting meal ahead. Chris, our server, approached with a friendly ease that suggested he was not just serving us dinner, but also an experience. His deep knowledge of the menu shone through as he detailed the ingredients and preparation methods of each dish with an infectious enthusiasm.
We started with the Build Your Own Sampler, choosing Chicken Strips, MozzaSticks, and Onion Rings. Chris described the onion rings as "golden hoops of joy," a description that proved accurate as we savored their crispy exterior and tender onion within, perfectly paired with a zesty Chipotle Ranch dipping sauce.
For our mains, the Grilled Tilapia with Shrimp stood out. The tilapia was expertly seasoned and cooked to a flaky perfection, each bite melting in the mouth, enhanced by the savory garlic butter and complemented by the firm, flavorful shrimp. The herb rice pilaf and grilled asparagus served alongside were equally commendable, each forkful bursting with freshness.
The interaction when a utensil was dropped was handled with such flair by Chris, it turned a simple mishap into a memorable part of our evening. With a magician's grace, he produced a new fork and continued to engage us with his cheerful banter, making us feel thoroughly looked after.
Nick, the manager, visited our table with a warm smile and shared stories about the origins of some of their dishes, like the local vegetables and herbs used in the rice pilaf, sourced from nearby farms. This not only added depth to our meal but also highlighted Perkins' commitment to community and quality.
Ending the meal, the Chocolate French Silk Pie was not merely served, but presented as the crown jewel of Perkins' bakery. The pie, with its smooth, rich chocolate filling and fluffy whipped cream, was a sublime treat that perfectly rounded off our dining experience.
At Perkins, it wasn't just about the food, which was exceptional, but also about the care woven into each interaction by Chris and Nick, making our visit not just a meal, but a rich dining narrative. The attention to detail, from the service to the ambiance to the meticulously crafted dishes, made our dinner at Perkins a truly...
Read moreThis most recent visit to Perkins Restaurant in Clearwater Florida was a very unique experience. Even though I didn't see any issue with the service that I got from the waitress, unfortunately the rest of my family felt that the service wasn't the greatest. But after talking with the waitress after they left. I completely understood what was going on because she has had a really long day. I myself from different jobs I've done when it's been a very long day and then sometimes you're thinking I'll get out of here in 8 hours and then it's like 16 hours later and you're still going on the grind. At that point when I go to a restaurant and I find somebody's been there over 8 hours I don't put all these go to look for things to point out as problems. Because that individual has a very valid reason as to why the service may not be Top Notch that day. Plus because I've worked tipped positions in the past I have a greater respect for the the employees, and I will be the first customer that will jump down other customers throats if I hear them griping about service that they get when they go to a sit-down restaurant other than a fast food restaurant. I don't care if it's Perkins or any other similar style restaurants or the big ritzy ones. Bottom line if you go out to eat it is never to be based on how fast do you get your food or how often is your drink kept full. The whole point of going out to eat is to be enjoying the time with the individual or group of people you go with and if you went by yourself then it's to just be able to kick back relax and not have to cook your own food. If you go into a restaurant like Perkins or one of its competitors with the idea that you can get in there sit down and then 5 minutes or less you'll have your start of your appetizers and your drinks just stay home! Stay home and either cook your own food or order out because otherwise you're just going to make it a bad time for everybody involved. Overall the service was good the food was excellent and the atmosphere was very nice...
