I recently decided to surprise my neighbor with a thank-you gift after he helped me with a few projects around the house. Knowing he’s a big pizza fan, I went with something new and intriguing from Mellow Mushroom — the Chicken Nirvana pizza. This is one of their newer offerings, so I was curious to see what he thought.
I ordered a large, figuring it would give him plenty to enjoy over a couple of days. However, that plan didn’t quite work out — he enjoyed it so much that it was gone within 24 hours. The moment he took his first bite, he started raving about the unique combination of flavors. He described it as unlike anything he had tried before, with a perfect balance between savory chicken, rich sauce, and just the right amount of cheese and toppings to make each bite memorable.
Throughout the day, he kept commenting on how impressed he was with the taste and how the flavors seemed to get even better with each slice. He told me it wasn’t just “another chicken pizza” — the flavors really stood out and made it special. In his words, “This is one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had.”
I’ve personally had Mellow Mushroom’s vegetarian pizzas many times, and they are absolutely amazing. The quality of ingredients, the fresh taste, and the creative combinations keep me coming back. Knowing how much I’ve enjoyed their veggie options, it’s not surprising to see the same level of quality and flavor in their Chicken Nirvana.
By the end of his pizza experience, my neighbor was already talking about ordering it again soon and adding it to his “frequent flyer” list at Mellow Mushroom. If you’re looking for something different from the usual pizza flavors, this one’s...
Read moreWe mixed it up this time, starting out with the Mushroom Soup. I mean, let's be honest, you sort of have to, right? And while I'm a very basic guy, mushroomwise, Daisy is doing her best to enlighten me on the benefits of many wonderful foods, and some the look like chewy little UFOs. But as always, the food did not disappoint. We also ordered directly from the menu instead of our usual build your own pizza habit. We did get a pie though, the Merry Prankster, with herb and aioli based sauce, chicken, sausage, and red and green peppers, on a gluten free crust with vegan cheese for Daisy.
But then, we ventured bravely into new and unknown parts of the menu, confident that our waiter Corey wouldn't let us down. He had already waved me off from a drink that sounded perfect, but was actually more tart than sweet (I have the sweet tooth of a 4 year old.) Besides, I get plenty of both of those from Daisy. We chose the delicious California Club (chilled chicken, smoked bacon, roasted tomatoes and smashed avocados on a ciabatta bun which according to Corey is the best way to go even though they do have other bread options and healthy lettuce wrap choices. Daisy saved half for her lunch the next day. She forgot to take it to work with her. It didn't survive the lunching hour at home. Sorry, not sorry. I figured out the best way to make it up to Daisy. So I would like to announce that Daisy and I will be tying the knot on May 28th!! We are currently looking at ideas for wedding ring tattos and a local artist to do the work. But all in all, The Mellow Mushroom is always a...
Read moreThe Missing Pizza with No Manager in Site:
I am a food blogger. Unfortunately, I never ended up having had the chance to try the food due to the missing pizza. At 2pm we arrived. We had a great waiter and were very hungry. Being told the pizza takes about 20 minutes, we ordered the pretzel bites. They came out right on time and were a great starter. We waited 40 minutes and wondered where the pizza was. (1 LG pizza) After our 3rd round of sodas we had now waited 1 hour and request that our pizza be put in a to-go box since an hour has past and no time to eat (very disappointed) No manager in site, we waited another 20 minutes (1hr 20min) and decided we drove 30 minutes for nothing. As it is unfortunate, while at the customer check in front desk, we decided to tell the girl that we will not be taking this missing pizza. We were told to pay for our drinks and appetizers. (As expected, but a good manager would not have charged). This is not okay for a food establishment that is not busy. While the waiter did a great job filling our drink through the hour+ wait, the cooks and manager failed their responsibility on maintaining a great place to relax and have lunch.
I give this location a Chucky cheese rating for the SMELL, a BLAND rating for the inside appearance, a CLEAN rating for the restrooms, a GOOD rating for the server, a POOR rating for the way of handling an unhappy customer and a good luck to all who try the Mellow Mushroom.
In conclusion, the Mellow Mushroom of Clearwater is so Mellow, you may leave hungry.
