First United Methodist Church-Clrwtr — Attraction in Clearwater

My family was first drawn to First United after attending the annual Wallace Gause concert held at the holidays each year in conjunction with the Pinellas Youth Symphony. As music performers and teachers, some of our students were performing. We were blown away by the music program at the church and started attending regularly soon after. Since that time in the late 90’s , I have personally participated in almost every music ensemble in the church whether traditional or contemporary. For those that find their worship through music there is no better place to fulfill that need. Our pastor, Matt Wallis, gives a sermon each week that is sincere, thoughtful, and compelling. I have attended this church for 20 years and am a member of the contemporary praise team there every week. I saw a recent negative review that said some very inappropriate things about our wonderful church. The woman who wrote the poor review even mentioned several names of people who she claimed are racist and mean. I KNOW THESE PEOPLE ! That statement is very untrue! That review was so off base and so unlike everything we stand for at FUMC. I hope she finds someplace that will accept her ramblings and help her find what she is searching for.
