If they only had a negative star option.. 😡 This store simply had to replace the front and back glass. Took it to them through an Asurion claim on 12/13/24. Left my phone for the entire day as they did not come close to the “expected completion time”. The first time I took my card if my phone the back glass cracked in the bottom right corner that I started to pull the case off. A quick call to Asurion reassured me that o could take it back to this ubreak location again and they would re-repair (replace the back glass). On 1/20/25 I stopped in to inquire to how busy they were as I only had a few hours to spare without my phone on a work day. I was told it would be fixed within two hours. Unfortunately, The new representative working the Connor was having issues as he was still obviously in training and it took him more than 45 minutes to check my phone in. I asked him multiple times if there there was any other security feature I needed to turn off on my phone before I left it and he proceeded to go to the back end of the store two times to inquire and I was told it was fine the way I left it. I even left him my phone password in the event that they did need to access something at the two hour mark. I called to inquire if I could pick up my phone and was told I needed another hour, but that there was no issues. When I returned to the store, I was told that there was a security feature on my phone that did not get turned off and when I turned it off, it said it needed an hour to complete the request as this is a new security feature with Apple and the iPhones. The store representative said I had to sit in the store for another hour and wait for the security feature to timeout so they could calibrate my phone. He had already given me my phone and I checked to make sure it was working by a test text and a phone call so I kept inquiring what “calibration Meant and if it was necessary as I did not have another hour to spare in my workday. I was told repeatedly that it was necessary, so I offered a happy medium to take my phone and sit in my car, with my dog, and work from my phone for an hour. A person by the name of Joel appeared from the back room and expressed to me. He was the store owner and if I left the store with my phone they would call the police and report it stolen.
I done proceeded to use my phone inside his store to call Asurion to report this issue with them. While talking to the representative, I quickly realize that the back glass they use to fix my phone wasn’t even the correct color of glass. I approached the front desk of the U brake store again and ask the new employee if they replaced the back glass with the wrong color. Another trip to the back, resulted in hymns and embarrass stating in front of the other customers in the store that they did put the wrong color glass on my phone and that I would have to leave the phone for another five hours for them to attempt to fix it a third time. I can ask to speak to the store owner and I was told he left the building. That’s what I told the new representative that I was also leaving the building and I would continue to stay on the phone with assuring to have them resolve the issue. I spent two hours on the phone with Sherry speaking to three different representatives. At one point, Joel the owner called me while on this phone call and we both spoke to Asurion and Joel again, repeatedly threatened to call the police on me if I didn’t return with my phone so he could remove the incorrect part that he put on it. Yes, he continued to threaten me in front of the Asurion supervisor. He demanded this is the only resolve to the problem. The assurance representative quickly told me that they are going to overnight me a brand new phone. I reluctantly agreed to return to the local U-break store after I have my new phone working correctly to allow them to take off the wrong part they put on. Asurion in his reassured me that this has been escalated to the multiple issue are treating...
Read moreI dropped my computer off to repair a crack in the screen. When they did the repair it damaged the computer further, such that it would not work unless plugged in. The manager intimated that it was an underlying issue that I brought it in with. The owner was respectful, but asked how I wanted to proceed instead of offering me what he though would make me happy. Because of the delays caused by the damage caused during repair, I had to buy a new computer so I could continue working- an 8hr repair turned into 6 days.
I ultimately decided not to pursue the matter. I got my deposit back, they returned my computer with the old screen, but smashed to bits because you have to do that to take it off. So I guess I can use it as a work station with an external monitor. Not really that useful for a laptop.
They fixed my wife's phone once. So if I recommend them to someone I would caution them to find out if repair is advisable for the thing they want fixed. Otherwise, you might bring in a computer with a barley visible crack to prevent it from getting worse, only to be left with a computer that's way worse off than before.
The photo is when they returned it to me. I was given a warning: "You'll be able to tell the screen was removed." I'm not sure I'd say it prepared me to see it quite that smashed up.
edit in reply to merchant response: This still feels like you're saying my computer had some other problem I didn't tell you about "However, with some device there may be underlying issues with the device when it arrives in our store that render repairs not cost effective or not feasible."
The device was working perfectly except for a small crack that had not even damaged any pixels. I also would have loved it if someone had said "Surface pro 4? Those are hit or miss on repairs." That would have been great customer service.
I appreciate your response, but I suppose we'll have to agree to disagree...
Read moreI initially had high hopes for this place based on all the positive reviews. Everything was great on my first visit and I was told there would be no charge if they couldn't fix my issue. After a couple days they called me and said they weren't able to fix my problem and I can come pick up my phone. When I received my phone I found that there was a scratch on the screen that was very visible (and not there previously). On the initial inspection report there was no claim of a scratch on the screen or damage (on the report they filed when I dropped my phone off), so this was proof that the phone was not damaged. It was clearly a scratch that was caused by one of their technicians. When I talked with the owner I was told that they wouldn't do anything about it and claimed that I put the scratch there (essentially calling me a liar). They didn't even try to resolve the situation and didn't care about hurting their company image, they were only trying to avoid taking responsibility for the damage they caused. They just kept telling me they can't do anything about it. The owner even went as far as insulting me by trying to "dumb it down" as if I didn't know what he was saying. The scratch is one thing, but the way it was handled by the actual owner and team there was even worse. A horrible experience and I will not be using them again. Be careful when taking your phone here, if you don't have a case or protector they can potentially damage your device with their negligence, and will be insulting and aggressive when you confront...
