Dave's Market & Eatery Cleveland Heights — Attraction in Cleveland Heights

I had to come back and correct my typos. I was very upset during the time of me initially writing this post.

Yesterday evening, (I’m writing this the morning after now at 7:10 AM )

I went into Dave’s at around 6 pm o’clock and I didn’t know that I had too many items as I approach the 15 item line before I stepped into it. A woman named Elisaa later I was told she was a manager tells me harshly “ Look!! this is a 15 items no more line”!! I apologized said I didn’t know I’ll move and as I proceed to leave out, she looks over to a customer a man with long strand dread locs and started talking about me ! Telling him “ “She’s stupid… can’t she read”’and they start doing this loud cackle laughter. Yes I felt Embarrassed. And as I’m standing over in the next line now with a young male cashier the man keeps turns around literally staring me down as this manager keeps loudly repeating those words over again. I was humiliated over them doing this all INITIALED BY HER and for not reason other than I stepped into the wrong line.

as I’m standing in this next line they still kept at it aiming their words and their stairs over at Me I spoke up and I I said to her “ I just didn’t know, BUT WHY would you and still continue to talk about me in this nasty way to another customer he doesn’t know you or me and I dont know you lady but I’m your customer! At that point they stop The laughter. The man comes over to my lane and looks me up and down as I say to him why do we treat each other like that? Why would you consider joining in on something so minor and make a big production with all that laughter and looking me up and down and eye rolling and disgust all while you’re with another woman I’m a woman and I’ve done nothing wrong ,I dont even know you! At that point as I’m ringing up my $117 order She comes to stand right in the space just a few feet from me literally in the isle and while the young man is ringing me up I asked her why are you standing here? I’m a customer. You’re now gonna stand over me as I’m ringing up my items with this young man in a stance bullying me further for no reason. It was only when I looked her eye and eye and told her to step away now from me and she put her head down and She walked away. I pulled out my phone and have it all on camera if you’d like to see I need the store to know that Elissa is a bully. She is using her position as though she’s on stage doing a performance in a Thug- ish way after she did this to me, she was extremely unprofessional self hating, it was a vulgar insulting experience ALL BECAUSE I STEPPED INTO THE WRONG LINE . When she moved over to the line that I was in and stood right next to me staring at me I asked why would you do that to me over there? I would never ever have done anything like that to you and I’ve held many Manager positions. I said why do we treat each other like that? You’re a black woman just like me why would you do that for no reason ???? And I asked her this over and over again. Why would you do this to me for no reason and she could never answer it, she just stood their blank face until I told her to get away

The man who runs this store is always kind, professional man I want him to know what I experienced because I truly don’t think he would’ve tolerated amy of it. I did nothing wrong and when I went to adjust my error by getting my groceries over to another line she still wanted to double down on being disrespectful to me for no reason

To think that she’s leading these young people in the store by managing over them is horrible. I forgot to mention after that customer left she proceeded to go over to another woman that worked at the store and continue her batter bullying conversation as she looked me up and down from head to toe as though we knew each other

I might have repeated myself multiple times in this message, but obviously I’m upset

Daves Please address this behavior she’s doing more harm than good if she acts like this on...

This was one of my favorite locations to shop when it was Zagaras. This was my first time shopping here since thr change. I'll admit that I loved the look but customer service needs some training. I purchased some shrimp that had visible signs of the price at a discounted rate. When I got yo the register it scanned differently. The clerk called the supervisor over, which was a 18-19 year old. He went to the back for price check. Upon returning he indicated that the price was correct and proceeded to remove the item from my order. I explained that there was a sales sign displayed a different price. I asked if he could walk back with me. When we arrived to the back I noticed that the sign had been removed. I inquired about the sign and he walked over to the fresh seafood counter. The guy there held up the sign. I stated that was the sign and why was it removed. He stated it was a misprint. I explained that I understood the mishaps but regrettably when I got the thar was the displayed price. At this point I'm standing my ground because the guy is trying to be argumentative and disrespectful. I indicated that I didn't put up the sign and as a customer I seen the sign. He with anger told the supervisor to adjust the price at the register to reflect. Upon walking away he made a statement "this won't happen again", I ignored him and proceeded to the register to pay for my items. No apology for my inconvenience or anything else...

This Dave's Market is substandard and not meeting the expectations of members of the community. I have bought spoiling seafood being sold and have had to return twice. The staff in the deli and hot food section are slow and incompetent; I asked about the ingredient in the baked beans I purchased yesterday and was incorrectly informed. I was told the beans didn't have a certain ingredient I asked about. I bought some, only to find the ingredient present. I returned the beans to the asst. Manager at this store. I asked to exchange the hot food. The asset manager directed me to go choose my exchange, but the hot food deli section was closed, and the asst manager threw my receipt of over $100 I purchased yesterday, in the garbage! This is not 1st time I've been insulted at this store. This is a remarkable incompetence, and insulting. No one was trained to know how to print me another receipt for my purchases, I was told I'd have to return to the store for a 3rd time! In addition, the prices at Dave's are gouged; extremely high. Will not be shopping...
