Climb Cleveland offers a great space for community, growth, and exploration! They offer Aahtanga Yoga, Blues Dancing, many books on climbing, weights, crack climbing, traversing, and many levels of bouldering. If you choose to become a member you get access to all of these (membership not required)!
The atmosphere is welcoming and encouraging. The regular members are happy to offer words of encouragement and pointers when asked.
Climb Cleveland offers technical problems (routes) that will exhaust your body and mind. They are constantly building and improving the space. There are even interactive walls on the third floor that let you create your own problems or try problems created by the community. The routes are color coated and there are multiple places that have the "v" difficulty posted. They even offer a "v-fun" which is a nice way to challenge their members.
They host a blues dance named "Rock the Blues". They offer lessons from instructors (local and traveling), skilled DJs, and even live music for some events. The lessons range from beginner to intermediate and welcome all skill levels.
There are also a wide range of local dinners and shops nearby that make for a great adventure before or after your climb!
Overall I recommend Climb Cleveland to climbers of all skill levels. Come...
Read moreThis is a stellar bouldering gym. Gyms usually are in unremarkable warehouse but this one happens to be built in an old building with so much character. It's a really neat spot in addition to be being a great gym Lots of routes at each level, lots of space spread over several floors, lots of different types of climbs at the various grades. There are traverses which I love for endurance building. Some weight equipment. This has pretty much everything. I'm only in town for a short visit so I can't speak to the frequency of resetting routes I like that the easiest routes are not simple ladders, they even have some problems built in. My only complaint/comment is the difficulty is determined by the hold colour in most of the gym. That can limit the types of routes at certain levels. It also limits the ability to regrade a route if it ends up being set a little out of range for the colour. Upstairs uses coloured tape on the start hold to indicate grade. This works very well. Also a simple tag on the start listing the grade would work. All in all, great gym, great staff and friendly members. I take...
Read moreI have climbed in many places now from across Ohio to Ireland. I'm not joking when I say this is one of the best, most vibrant, welcoming gyms you can find. There's 3 floors, beautifully furnished, a wee library, a moonboard, yoga studio, workout area, and more (see below). It's a bouldering gym- but before you top rope friends groan in distaste- there is a traverse wall downstairs complete with lead clip-ins, and crack climbing throughout the building. Some of the holds are textured to be like real rock, too! I have been out of the game for a minute, and don't climb like I used to. Nowadays I just want to feel my body move and connect my mental-physical together, as well as with others. This is an amazing place to do so. Nobody I've met here is judgey or rude, and most are willing to give advice or camaraderie if you ask. Consider visiting Climb Cle! To me, it is fully worth the...
