I wasn't too bad of an experience. If you know what you're looking for and you know they sell it then it's a good place to stop grab what you need and leave. It was my first experience ever coming to this particular brand of place. I went in and my initial first thought was that the place looked a bit disorganized and dingy. I went looking around for what I needed and I couldn't find it anywhere. I did struggle to find somebody to ask questions to I finally ended up having to walk to the front register area to find somebody. They pointed me in the direction of where I needed to go. And I eventually did find what I was looking for. But not before walking the entire store. And then walking the entire store they definitely have a lot of good things. From sporting to camping it's actually a fantastic shop. Just needs a little bit of TLC and some good employees that really care about and know about what they're selling. This place could be amazing. I went to the sporting shop where the arrows are and wanted to ask questions about some stuff there but there was nobody working that area at all and I walked around for quite a bit hoping somebody would show up but nobody ever did and there were about seven other customers in that area kind of all waiting around like I was. I decided to just not worry about it and left. Got what I needed, paid and left. Overall it's a good place to kill some time and maybe discover some new items for camping sporting hobbies etc I noticed many things were missing prices so that's another issue as well. I'm sure on a good day when they're fully staffed maybe it's a lot better of an experience. But it left me wanting pricing, questions answered and assistance. So overall the visit was just okay. But it had the potential to be a fantastic experience. I'm sure I'll leave actually go back again when I need something I may have seen. But I may just call first and ask for pricing and stock before wasting...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you're chasing a deal in the guns and ammo section, what you save in money, you'll pay for with time from some of the worst customer service. The gun counter is almost always unattended and when you flag someone down for assistance, they will glare at you like you're chewing gum in church. Or kicking in the bathroom stall door while they're dropping the kids off at the pool. Or whatever situation helps you imagine a disgusted, angry, violated, resentful scowl. That's what they look like. And it's not just one employee. It's more than a few. The others who don't scowl seem like they're dead inside and just trying to make it to the end of their shift without ruining their lives further. Come in for sporting goods and leave with a blossoming case of second-hand depression.
I inherited a few firearms and I needed a safe to store them and asking to see the safes was apparently like asking to borrow a lighter to set a baby on fire. Silly me. How dare I waste their time. I should just leave the random firearms laying around my house to use as backscratchers.
I'm obviously trying to amuse myself with this review, but you should just avoid the Cleveland store. I'm going to try the one in Athens if I need anything. But I will never go to Cleveland again.
I do feel bad if the staff is overworked. That's the sense I get with the store so empty the few times I've been there. I think they stretch their employees because they don't have enough customers to support the expense of hiring more.
They should just close it and relocate those people to Athens or a spa retreat...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreif I could give them a zero, I would. back in early July I did the background check for a work related firearm (July 26th) I was recently married and submitted my appeal immediately (the same day) I received my approval letter for purchase Aug 8th. I called the store and they hadn't checked their emails since I don't know when. I had 2 phone conversations with them over the next 10 days and they said bring the approval letter and they'd find the e-mail. At one point they actually said they HAD it! The employee I had been dealing with that was going to honor the purchase price once I was approved was fired during this process. (not because of me) and the new manager was NO help either. To date, October 1st, they have never called me back about the background check. I took my business elsewhere & will continue to do so. Their customer service was terrible and of no service at all. Your loss Dunhams---for word if mouth in my industry goes a long way & I'll continue to share my rotten experience with everyone regarding your Cleveland TN store. Thanks for...
