I heard about this place through a friend and she said it was really good. So I always kept this place in the back of mind whenever I'd come through here. One time I wanted to take my parents here but it was closed on Monday :(
I finally had the chance to try it out with a friend of mine. I got the Combo Bowl because I was stuck between two orders, so I ended up trying both at a good deal. I ordered the Banging Bulgogi & Crazy Chicken with corn, red cabbage, lettuce, fried egg, and white rice. My friend ordered the Yummy Tofu bowl and we had kimchi mandu to share.
Some people say it's expensive or overpriced, but for me it was worth it. The portion size was large, I'm so happy that I had leftovers to look forward to later. Not only does the price correlate to size, but the quality was just outstanding.
Food was just incredible. The veggies tasted fresh and delicious. I had the gochujang at medium, so spice level was perfect. The bulgogi and chicken were flavored so well. Each bite from my bowl was dynamic, flavorful, and diverse in texture. I loved it all. It really was a perfect bowl for me. The kimchi mandu was crispy and the filling was good. My food took a few minutes to come out after my friend's, probably because I had two proteins.
Parking lot is pretty small in front, but there's more parking in the back. The restaurant itself is small as well, we came on a friday evening and every table was occupied. The workers were friendly.
After my first time here, I knew that this wasn't the last time. Not only was I far from disappointed, but this place exceeded my expectations. Thank you for taking care of us :) I'll be bringing myself and everyone...
Read moreConsistency is a skill most restaurants don't possess. At many places, you can go and have a great experience one day and a very mediocre/poor experience the next. Since Covid all our food costs have gone up while quality has taken a hit. Rice N' GO provides some relief from this downturn.
I've been a regular here for a couple of years. It's definitely our most visited restaurant in town. My favorite thing about them is the consistency! Hundreds of orders have been done correctly with one mistake in 2 years! One! It's not just accuracy of order but also quality.
I find the dollar value here goes far and for great food! Their menu is a good size and diverse but not large. I like that. I find a huge menu often produces sub-par outcomes. There are other places in town I love to visit, but no one produces the same quality results more consistently than Rice N Go. This place knows what it wants to be and has done it.
I spent a short time in Seoul, Korea, and I loved their food. It's not a common style to come across. It's not like Hibachi or even Chinese food. It has its own distinct smell and taste that I loved while there and had missed here. Street food venders are very popular in Seoul. It's a must do if you visit to try some street foods! I was excited to see that Rice N Go has some of those popular items on their menu. They have done a great job of bringing traditional Korean foods here and making it American! The corndogs are...
Read moreLet me preface this by saying that I am a huge fan of Korean food. I love all kinds of dishes, and despite some of my favorites being gone, I was excited to try the new menu at Rice N Go. All things I know and love. Until they weren't.
For starters, the portions have decreased significantly yet the prices have remained stagnant. I know times are hard but I would like more than a spoonful of fried rice in my bowl, especially when I am paying a dollar extra for it.
The bulgogi was okay but it lacked flavor and seemed more like a vehicle for sauce than anything. The banchan, both things I've had before, was bland and generally unappealing. The vegetables were diced up into these tiny homogenous cubes that were difficult to eat and honestly just annoyed me.
There weren't any notable changes to the interior or exterior of the restaurant. The two white women who work in the front were just as inhospitable as they've always been. I still don't know what I'm tipping them for.
I would normally be tempted to stop by and blow through $50 when passing this establishment. That feeling has been replaced with a dull ache for...
