Response to owner below this review
I hope others read this review prior to donating and purchasing items from Clevelands Habitat location. Please consider my review as 100% accurate and current information.
Unfortunately this is a consistent issue at habitat. Over priced and inconsiderate management. You see i attached a picture for evidence 4/30/2025. When I approached an employee and asked it this was a standard method of pricing he said yes and its non negotiable. He said typically items are half off but once its on the floor it isnt negotiable. So you are telling me that the items donated are only 10% off and USED???? im certain that the CEOs are multi millionaires or close to it. What a shame to have a "nonprofit" mislead those of low income into thinking they are getting a deal. This is unjust for a non profit to do this, if you cannot manage the business and be affordabe off of free and donated items then you are in the wrong business and do not have the publics best interest in mind. There needs to be repercussions for fraudulent and misleading information.
My response to owner: First of 10% off is not below retail value when the item is no longer new off the shelf. Typically all items lose at the minimal of 12% value once it is purchase from the original retailer. This isnt the only item. I fact I can go back and provide evidence of items that are priced over 100% of the retail value and all these items are used and in very poor condition. Please read all the reviews as im not the only one who noticed this. Im debating on taking this to channel3 news so that this non profit organization can see the seriousness behind the facts of deliberately taking advantage of those who are of low income and of low knowledge. It is no way even reasonable to over charge people. You cant rob Peter to pay Paul and expect to live a fruitful life, atleast not for long.
Thing is, I used to love going to habitat not only for the deals, but for the experience. Unfortunately I experience neither of that now. You guys ruined what could have been...
Read moreGood store for finding random household goods and furnishings. Items range from brand new in the box to highly used.
It's very hit or miss on being able to find any specific appliances (large or small), furnishings, fixtures, or other home repair items or materials.
Examples of items often in stock include: Bathroom and kitchen hardware Toilets Vanity's Mirrors Desks Sinks Faucets Doors (all types) Sofas Chairs Tables Paint Paint accessories Power tools Bathtubs (more about this later) Tile Flooring (Laminate, LVP, RVP, etc) Microwaves Washer and dryers Ranges Cooktops Countertops Various construction materials Beds Mattresses Artwork Cookware Flatware Glassware Recliners Toys Bicycles Baby items Strollers Dresser drawers Nightstands Clothing Etc, etc
This is by no means an all inclusive list since they sell pretty much anything that is donated to them.
In my opinion many of their items are overpriced but you can definitely find the random bargain gem in the midst of the rest... You may just have to dig (or be lucky).
Now about the bathtubs... I've been to several Restores in different areas and this one is the only one I've encountered that store all of their bathtubs outdoors and completely exposed to the elements. This means that unless you get one that just arrived you'll be cleaning stagnated water and algae out of any tub you purchase. And if the tubs sit outside for any real amount of time UV exposure degrades them even more. Not to mention the havoc that's wreaked upon any jetted tub's Electrical components. This is probably the reason I've see the same tubs for sale for several years now.
If anyone in Restore management is listening, please consider moving those items indoors or at least putting a roof over the external bathtub area to reduce exposure! It'll gain you an extra...
Read moreUPDATE: This place has a " MAJOR PRICING PROBLEM!" I mean, some of the items are in "EXTREMELY USED,BROKEN,MISSING PARTS OR DAMAGED!" Several items were priced 175% over retail that sales New & upgraded versions! A lot of customers were talking about the outrageous prices. I met & spoke with one customer who was making a TicTok video about the overzealous prices while another customer was in need of "Thrift Store" due to lack of funds. This place accepts donations from local residents and local residents in need can't afford to shop at this location. The paint isn't always the color described, plus it's not returnable. However, it's another item that is overpriced.
We tried to purchase items from a shelf in the customer shopping area. Michael said to a mgr. Laura, they should keep them!!! So we decided to let them KEEP EVERYTHING about $60.00 sales loss . Plus some of their prices are higher than RETAIL! Example sewing machine brand new $21.00 their price $30.00 I also contacted Laura by phone. Laura said, "She couldn't do anything!" I also forgot to mention that Michael rang up the item for a higher price. My husband informed Michael that it was marked a...
