From reading a prior review, I made a reservation days in advance for 1 at 6:00 PM on a Friday. This allowed me to be seated immediately. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, and I took indoor seating. The restaurant was starting to fill up when I arrived, so I imagine it gets pretty busy on Fridays. My server was Lauren, who was very friendly and informative about the establishment. She gave some info about the chef, like how he had apparently cooked with some famous chefs like Gordon Ramsey, and how the chef was apparently the Tennessee representative for some cooking competition. The chef won said competition with the Catfish Fritto dish that's on the menu (under Appetizers). Regarding the bathroom, it was 1 urinal and 1 stall. The bathroom was very upscale and well kept. It offered both paper towels and hand blowers for drying your hands, and it even offered hand lotion (something I've never seen in a restaurant bathroom before). The only down-side was that there was only 1 sink. For dinner, I ordered the Potato Pizza, which took 15 minutes and 37 seconds to arrive. That was faster than I expected since the menu made mention how the pizzas are made fresh and indicated that they might take some time to make. According to my server Lauren, all the pizzas are 10-inches except for the Garlic Cheesy Bread, which is smaller. The Potato Pizza comes topped with a bunch of arugula, and honestly, its a bit much. I decided to eat the arugula separately from each slice, and then I ate the slice (though this does mean I got plenty of leafy greens, so no need for a salad). The pizza was incredible. I also ordered a dessert, specifically the Vanilla Creme Brulee, which took 5 minutes and 23 seconds to arrive. The dessert was wonderful. Some other things I'll share are that the restaurant has special food and wine offerings it offers either daily or for a few days in a row. The food special for the Friday I went was escargot, which was tempting, but I wanted to try the Potato Pizza. As for the wine offering, I don't drink, but even if I did, I doubt I'd take it since you have to buy the whole bottle. My server Lauren told me how the chef apparently makes food for the staff, so they all get to have a nice dinner together. So, it sounds like Inman Social is a great place to work. Lastly, the restaurant has birthday specials. Specifically, you get a free dessert and a free glass of bubbly wine for your birthday. Overall, Inman Social was spectacular and I'll need to...
Read moreEarly dinner the night after Thanksgiving, our first visit to Inman Social. We were big fans of the restaurant's previous incarnation as True at BHB, and honestly, we will miss the wonderful Chicken Schnitzel menu offering. Time marches on, and we very much enjoyed our meal at Inman Social.
The wine/whiskey/cocktails menu is truly superior, my wife particularly enjoyed the Inman Royale (Grappa, Raspberry Liqueur, Lemon, Prosecco) cocktail. The only significant disappointment we experienced was the "Warm Rolls & Garlic Butter" for $8. I know Niedlov's has a good reputation for baking excellent fresh breads, but these were really stale, or something else was wrong (not heated long enough? I'm not sure)...but they were a waste of money.
My wife had the Chicken Parmesan, and it was a genuinely superior plate, not your run-of-the-mill c.p., with wonderful homemade Mafaldine pasta and a very generous serving size, priced at $26. I had the 27-layer Lasagna, which was very tasty, and I ordered the 6-ounce "Big Meatball" ($12!) from the appetizers menu to accompany it. I am glad I did, because I like an extra-meaty style of lasagne. Inman Social's lasagne had a meat sauce, but it would not have been meaty enough for my tastes without the added meatball. That made the entire lasagna dish quite pricey, $37 total, ($25 for the generous slice accompanied by the $12 meatball). If you don't need extra meat with your lasagna, you will save some $$.
We ended the evening with the deliciously creamy chocolate gelato, and my wife had a very fresh-tasting raspberry sorbet. She thought it was tasty, but just a bit more tart than she would have preferred.
Service was timely and very professional, and the restaurant atmosphere was festive and very charmingly rustic. Final total bill for a fairly simple meal, including 1 cocktail, 2 glasses of red wine, and taxes and tip: $160. Gulp. Worth the money, but the price tag still was an eye...
Read moreI am absolutely a happy patron! First impression was wonderful, we were pleasantly greeted by the sweet front of house staff, the ambiance is wonderful and the restaurant is designed beautifully. We greatly appreciated that there weren't tables galore, as it provided plenty of great seating options without feeling like you were sitting at your neighbor's table as well. Water was provided immediately upon sitting, something I greatly appreciate while we review the menu. The wine selection was wonderful and wide enough that we both could enjoy it without disappointment (he has a red preference, and white for myself). We ordered the garlic rolls, though it didn't come with the candle we were anticipating (we'll be back for it when he reintroduces it!) they were absolutely delicious. I want that garlic butter put on everything I eat! 4 stars for service as we both ordered dinner and a side of veg, but the server forgot to put it in, resulting in me reminding her and then her asking if I wanted her to take it off the bill. Please don't ask, just do. Otherwise she was super sweet and pleasant. We would be happy to have her serve us again. The dinner, wow, jus wow. The lasagna was breathtaking and so very flavorful. The layers complimented each other so well and the ricotta was perfection. My husband's spaghetti was equally delicious, extremely flavorful sauce, and a meatball that practically melted in your mouth. Wesley came by to ask about our food and chatted with us a bit. A very nice touch, you can clearly see he has a passion for his food and wants this endeavor to succeed. We will absolutely be back and can't wait to try more!! Thank you for opening up a great restaurant here...
