We rented a slingshot in Jan as a anniversary gift for the hubby and again yesterday to help us conquer our cabin fever from isolating this week.. So. Much. Fun!!!! I read another review about waiting for the clerk to get back. We showed up both times and they weren't there (out delivering brochures to local businesses.) That was easily remedied by texting when we got there. The young guys that work this business, own this business and are very helpful giving ideas on where to go. Of course, with all of the other issues facing small businesses during this weird time in the US, this small business is hurting. BUT there's no reason for that!! Renting a slingshot puts you only near one other person and all out in the outdoors and sunshine...both of which are good for killing the virus. Though they clean all the interior areas of the cars, we brought our own thing of Clorox Wipes and followed that with hand sanitizer on everything we might touch and our helmets. It was such a great way to blow off the restlessness that comes with being stuck inside for days on end. Last time we drove down and ate at Squid Lips at the south end of the island and yesterday we were the last customers allowed in to stay and eat (outdoors) at the Squid Lips in the middle of the island. Since that was the last seating (the order came thru while we were eating) you won't be able to do that but there are TONS of small businesses that are hurting so pick one to pick up lunch and bring a towel with you to sit out and have a picnic at a scenic stop. Even if there WAS'T a quarantine in place, this is such a fun thing to do. Now that there IS shelter in place order, this activity will keep you from going stir crazy. Come on people!!! Get out there and use the small businesses that are still able to serve you during social distancing. We plan to go back one more time before we all are allowed to move around again. Go do it and then think good thoughts about me because I told you about it!! Oh, I almost forgot...check their website, they have some great specials because of...
Read moreDon’t buy the Groupon. We purchased a Groupon prior to our vacation and when we arrived and called this place we were informed we needed a reservation 48 hours in advance… but only to use the Groupon. We were informed that if we returned our Groupon they would be happy to honor the same price. After 48 hours we could only get Groupon bucks.
So basically they don’t want you to use the Groupon. They want to lure you in with the Groupon but don’t want to actually pay Groupon fees.
Why do I need a reservation to use a Groupon when you say you have plenty of Slingshots available and can honor the same price?
Poor customer service and making me do the runaround to avoid paying fees to a company you chose to advertise with is unacceptable. Just honor the Groupon!
We cancelled the Groupon but chose not to give our money to this place especially since we now have $65 in Groupon bucks we are unlikely to use.
Also, there is an additional $45 charge to whatever price you agree to pay. They don’t really tell you this. I learned about it from...
Read moreWould like to say at first the person that ran the slingshot was nice but unfortunately let's get into the main issue. I rented a r type sling shot for 24 hours on the website and paid. When I got the first one the speakers did not work in it only the tweeters. Sales person said it wasn't a big deal and can still enjoy my time. At 300 dollars I expect everything to work. Which he put me in a more basic one without the bells and whistles and when I asked for some kind of refund for the downgrade he said it's not possible. Driving in this one was ok. The rear tire was worn out for burn outs and it would shake after a low speed limit and it wasn't perfect. For spending that kind of money for 24 hours I expect things to work and be enjoyable without issues but it had issues. The process to get the slingshot and the worker was great but the slingshots need some work from past renters. I see other posts on here about mechanic issues and all I see is excuses so I don't expect anything less or more of a...
