Just the facts. This is my simple Pro/Con list. I will be as objective as possible with the Cons. We stayed at this Hilton last week while visiting Disney and the Kennedy Space Center. I write this so others can be prepared for what lays in store for them if they choose to stay here. Pros -Location was amazing - you are on the beach in seconds. -Heated pool was perfect for a morning swim with my son. -Staff at bar, restaurant and even at the little Starbucks (all very friendly and helpful). -Gary at the bar was awesome. He was friendly and funny and he is a Philadelphia Flyers fan, which we shared our sadness over. -If you choose to go to this Hilton, the Shrimp with Coconut rice was amazing. Maybe I was hungry, but it was definitely one of the best meals I had while in Florida. Cons -Dirty Duvet- woke up one morning and looked under my blankets and the light from the window showed some sort of dark material trapped in the duvet. Might be time to replace. -Coffee shop (starbucks) no price list. One day they could only offer black coffee and you added your own cream and sugar. This was absolutely fine and the cost was reasonable- approximately 3 dollars per cup. The next day I asked for a coffee with some syrup and the cost jumped up to approximately 9 dollars a cup. -Room was fine-nothing extraordinary. We spent very little time in it anyway. Bathtub looked like it had been patched a couple times. -No maid service unless you request it. Why have a door hanger then? Every other hotel I have stayed at recently, if you don’t have the door hanger up, you are looking for your room to be cleaned. This is noted in their bathroom so I share some of the responsibility for this oversight. Might also be a holdover from Covid protocols (Maybe just let folks know when they check in) -12 dollars for parking per night. Apparently there is signage when you check in that mentions this, but it is not on the placard that you put in your car. (Maybe just let folks know when they check in so it doesn’t feel like you are trying to nickel and dime them when you give the final bill). BTW, the parking lot was about 1/3 full. -Customer service at front desk. As I noted above, my experience with customer service elsewhere in this Hilton was excellent, but the front desk staff was a different story. One evening while trying to get towels the man at the front desk read a book while I stood in front of him for approximately 2 minutes. Only after I moved did he recognize me. I’m not looking to be treated like a king—just wanted some towels. Lastly, and this was the only reason I decided to write this review. My family had a great vacation and I was ready to leave well enough alone, but upon checking out when I mentioned that it might be good practice to give folks a heads up about the parking and the cleaning requests, I was met with a scowl from the front desk and a list of reasons why I was wrong. I know customers can be a pain in the butt, but when they are spending their hard earned money at your hotel - just be kind. I don’t want to discourage other folks from staying here- their stay might be excellent. As for me, I will not stay at this Hilton or any other Hilton unless there are literally no...
Read moreWe picked this hotel for a one night stay after spending 2 brilliant weeks at Disney & visiting Kennedy Space Centre before flying back to the UK the following day. We selected the hotel due to its location on Cocoa Beach, Hilton brand “quality” and the advertised facilities and beach bar. We arrived quite tired late afternoon after a day of travelling / walking around KSC and were not told there was any issue so headed straight up to our room. General decor around the hotel and in our room was tired with lots of scuffs on furniture, old carpets and poor paint job on the walls. We had booked an ocean view room - we did have a view of the ocean in the distance although a lot of the view also included a quite ugly flat roof of the restaurant & air con units etc. - they could have made an effort to make that look nicer. We headed down to get a drink before our evening meal to find all food and beverage facilities closed with signs put up from the Health Department advising they had been shut down that day (4th August). We tried talking to staff including the front office manager Mohammed who was particularly unhelpful. They said there was nothing they could suggest, they said guests who had booked direct were being offered $25 per person per night as compensation to allow them to purchase food from another location but as our travel agent in the UK had booked our stay as part of a package, they wouldn’t give us this. Instead they gave us 50k Hilton points which we were told would be enough to book a room in another Hilton worldwide as compensation - we said we didn’t really want this but were told there was no other option. We have since tried to book at a number of locations but found the points are not sufficient so we would have to add cash to this to be able to use it. Not really sure we would want to stay at another Hilton after this poor experience to be honest. There are articles online confirming the hotel was shut down for a number of days with repeated inspections due to 21 violations of health & safety / unhygienic conditions in food prep areas - think we dodged a bullet not eating there. The front desk also told us they had arranged a food truck for breakfast the following morning but when we went down at 10am we were told it had been and gone - breakfast was supposed to be up to 11am. We have tried complaining direct but they didn’t want to know and told us to do this via our travel agent, which we did but Mohammed just told them lies. Very disappointed with our stay and with the lack of service from Hilton - it’s like they just don’t care. Cocoa Beach is beautiful and there are some lovely places to eat & drink along there - we would definitely recommend visiting the location but don’t be fooled in to thinking paying for the Hilton brand is worth it - not the case in...
Read moreWe are Diamond level Hilton Honors member and usually use Hilton properties exclusively when we travel. First the god news, our room had a great 😊 view, we stayed in a 2 room ocean view suite. Checking in the man at the desk, Elo, was very kind. 😊 Now, the bad news, calling this room a 2 room suite is an insult to suites. The King bed was rock hard and the pillows as flat as pancakes. The room was configured as such that when you opened it door you had to slide sideways to enter, the couch was inches from the door. The bathroom was so small that when you opened the door it just barely made it past the toilet. My two sons were not able to brush their teeth together because if the tiny floor space between the sink and toilet. (And no it is not because my sons are huge). The inside bar was not opened during the day so we stood in the heat of the day outsider to get food and drink. Now GOOD news the food was wonderful. BAD News is that the bartender clearly didn’t wanna be there that day and when he takes a food order the food comes out and since they don’t take names you just have to guess when your food is ready we went up to get our food found it in the window but a portion of it wasn’t there the bartender told me oh well somebody else must’ve taken it like it was my fault. So while my husband and I ate our children waited another 30 minutes for their pizza 🍕 When I came back up to get the pizza I ordered another can of beer 🍺 and had the empty in my hand I said it on the bar and the bartender informed me I had to go find a garbage can but I couldn’t leave the empty on the bar my hands were full so I left the empty can on the bar we came down three hours later to play the giant chess game which by the way is very cool and that beer can still sat there he could not find time to reach his hand across the bar and put it in one I imagine it was at least one trashcan he had by in there. The outside gate from the pool to parking lot had no lock on it so we met people who were not staying at our hotel in the pool/bar area. Nice people but shouldn’t that area be for guests only, as there were limited places to sit? Im conclusion, great location, good food but customer service and accommodations are lacking. Yeah this was a long review 😎 but I hope it helps anyone who...
