Waves Craft Bar Kitchen — Restaurant in Cocoa Beach

We made last minute reservations for Valentine’s Day on Valentine’s Day. I was surprised that was even possible. We weren’t sure what to expect because we had never seen or heard of Waves. But, we were able to make a reservation and the reviews were good, so we thought it was worth a shot. The food was so good and the atmosphere was perfect. We had a really great time and we will for sure go back again!

THE GOOD: The food - it was delicious! I ordered the petite steak and my husband ordered the ribeye. They were both cooked and seasoned to perfection. Mine had zero fat too, which is a huge bonus for me. We moved here from Texas and this was seriously the best steak I’ve had since moving here. The atmosphere - fun and hip. The decor and lighting were bright and energetic. The big windows along the back gave you an awesome view of the palm trees and skyline. They even had valentines decor that coordinated well with the everyday decor. The staff - everyone was super nice and chill. I never felt like any of them were overwhelmed or stressed. They all seemed to be working well together as a team because I noticed multiple people working together to serve each table. It was a really low key and romantic night for us.

THE MEH - I don’t want to say anything was bad because it wasn’t. But there were things IMO that could be better. The limited menu is understandable since it’s a craft kitchen, but I wished there would have been a better selection of entrees. While my petite steak was delicious, it was the only thing I felt I would enjoy out of the entrees. Too many selections were too unique or had mushrooms (I hate mushrooms). One suggestion would be to offer substitutions or edits to menu items so that they are enjoyable for a larger group, especially when offering a limited menu of unique choices. I asked if I could order the petite steak without mushrooms, but it wasn’t accommodated. Luckily the plate was huge and I was able to slide the mushrooms far away….lol. I was so excited for a fancy restaurant while on vacation! I reviewed the menu prior and loved it! We were greeted by a lovely host who was also our waitress. We brought along our very picky child. We were told before I came and called and they said mozzarella sticks were on the menu….which sadly they were not. We ordered drinks which took a LOT longer than expected. We did ask for fries on the side of my son’s steak which we realized later never came. The cosmopolitan was weak sadly so I switched up to a regular short with vodka, cran and seltzer but no one knew what seltzer was. They quickly assured me and figured it out and said don’t worry. The steaks were great!. My 2 scallops and pork belly were ok. The scallops had a ton of paprika on them which made them hard to eat. Without it they would have neem amazing . The clams appetizer was pretty good. My husband did not get the last beer he asked for and he asked for his steak to be medium well which it was super medium rare. Still tasted great though. Also our son was starving and we asked that his meal came out with our adult appetizer and it didn’t. Sadly we wouldn’t return. The place is beautiful and the staff was super nice but fell...

Julio was the best, attentive and always there with customized effort to make our experience the very best…. Then we tasted the food! Please let the cooks, the whole staff know…one of best meals in the last 4yrs here in Florida!

Special shout out to our bartender that night Jarrod (spelling may be 😑 wrong) sorry! Made us 3 drinks, with ease and they were out of this world with a touch of that black salt for my margarita… chefs kiss… great night at the bar!

The vibe is really good, light music so you can talk to each other but groovy enough to sit and listen… coming from Miami to see the Space Force base, this was an extra great atmosphere! 🤓 a space joke🥸….

If you’re in the area, breakfast was all American buffet with warm cooked food or you could order off the menu but it was all fresh!

Get lunch at the tiki bar, staff was anxious to assist you and keep the drinks coming but they have a burger 🍔 for the tiktoks! Amazing…

You can’t go wrong here… pictures can’t tell you just how great it was but definitely a 10/10...
