First, I want to say that the aesthetics of the game room was marvelous! Marcus was our game master, and he really made it a great experience! That being said, I do have to say that when I first entered, epic escapes, I almost turned around and walked out because of the young lady that ended up greeting us after a few minutes of standing there Waiting for someone to show up to the window. This young lady had a very bad attitude, acting as if she were highly agitated with being there she continued to yell back-and-forth with the fella in the back when we told her we have a code for a discount she made it very clear that she didn’t know about it, and had to discuss it in a very disgusted manner saying that she didn’t know anything about any of that, and don’t even know what to do about it! Making us feel uncomfortable of course as anyone would have been. Once again, Marcus saved the day and helped! This young lady exhibited signs of frustration, running back-and-forth and not knowing what she was doing all the while, making it clear that we were not welcome there. She continued to tell everybody that she was so tired, and kept rubbing her head in her hands hanging her head down constantly as if she just didn’t want to be there ! She was Very rude! I was asking the rest of the party that I was with if they wanted to leave because it was so uncomfortable. Marcus came around the corner and helped with the situation to make it feel more comfortable. Once we got to the room, Marcus made it fun for us. Once again, when we escaped, the young lady was bellowing at Marcus telling him how she wants him to help set up rooms . She was very disrespectful to the young man the whole time but he just calmly went on about doing his job. I told the young man that he should let the bosses know that she should not represent their company as I had heard good things about the company, but I was certainly not impressed with her behavior and it put a very bad taste in my mouth , had it not been for Marcus I would have given in the worst review ever! So beware of the little girl that looks 10 years old with glasses and very short hair! She should not have a job working in entertainment! It is obviously too high stress of a job for her! We spent $120 for 40 minutes and I felt as if we wasted it because of her attitude! Just want everyone to know that Epic Escapes was a lot of fun, the room was awesome, but if you were to come in contact with that young lady, turn around and run the other way! And as we were leaving she was helping other people check in, complaining about her working woes all the while! I just have to shake my head! All in all, if the young girl wasn’t there, this would have...
Read moreThis was our second time visiting and we tried The Killer Basement this go around! The puzzles were definitely a good challenge, uniquely fitting to the room, and the spooky ambience was just right.
Special shout-out to our game master Tyler who also was a pleasure to work with. He was very kind, patient, and personable throughout our time before, during, and after our room. We never felt rushed and he was more than happy to answer any silly questions we may have had. It is evident he enjoys his job and seeing the creative ways in which people approach these puzzles taking the extra time to share some stories with us along the way.
I also personally appreciate Tyler’s compassion and attention to detail to ensure we all had the best experience possible. I had told him prior that I was particularly jumpy and a little nervous for any jump scares. He very kindly and carefully eased my concerns prior without spoiling any puzzles. He also very thoughtfully chose to activate a certain “big scare” specifically when he noticed I had stepped back into a previous room for a moment to ensure I would not be too spooked. I really appreciated his individual consideration especially with such large group of 8 of us to keep an eye on. That personal touch to make sure I was comfortable was very much appreciated! He was very considerate and did a great job ensuring the right amount of “scary” tailored for each person in our varied group.
All in all, we had a wonderful time and are looking forward to trying out some of the other rooms, as well as seeing...
Read moreWe had a nice time. We escaped! That's the best part of an escape room. We'd recommend this stop for people looking to knock one out.
We've completed around 15-20 escape rooms overall, across several states, we always seek them out. The room we did was described as "hard", but it wasn't fitting from what a challenging room has the potential to be. It was fun enough, but it's what we call a very linear room. It wasn't satisfying to escape like other hard-marked rooms.
One clue led to just one thing and everyone involved is only working on that one thing. It's all very railroaded in general rather than one where you divide to conquer, have longer clues mixed in with quicker ones, and more complex things to decode or decipher. Not the best of what we've done, but an okay/average time. They can be very fun! Just not our cup of tea, I guess.
Our game master was excellent!
We would recommend coming here if you like rooms such as this.
There was a LOT of counting, which isn't problem solving, clues, puzzles. Lots of matching symbols, which isn't super exciting either. Then there were some very minor issues with the room itself, such as super faded glow in the dark paint, which can be a damper during an experience. We'd still come back, but we'd probably explore elsewhere first to see what other options are around. It seems like the puzzle designs still have some growth to be had.
Still would recommend. Fun...
