There is a parking lot across from Travis hardware(great store) That has the chains down on Sunday to bait people to park there, there is a tow truck waiting for you to park in a customer parking only parking lot, Parking has always been a issue in the village, how ever on Sunday the wells Fargo business is closed, but there parking lot is open, if you ignore the customer only parking sign your car will be towed in 3 minutes as the tow truck is right around the corner, The man Aron that owns the sugar shack also owns the lot the tow truck Quick Tow rents from on the other side of the village, The village knows about this and says there is nothing they can do or will do, So in my humble Thinking I feel they are condoning letting people travel to see a historic place and get Towed off for 175.00 for doing so. I I owned a business in the village there would be no way I would allow this to happen to my customers, After our car got towed. I spent the rest of the day on the side walk letting people know that if they parked there the guy right over there would tow there car in minutes, I was thanked over and over, most after parking else were walked by me on the way to the sugar shack and thanked me some more, not knowing the doughnuts they just bought were from the same guy that owns the lot that quick tow rents from, I just called the village association and was told there is nothing they can do, I replied the merchants in the village could do what I did and make sure non of the people visiting the village got ripped off from this scam, He replied he would sue me for slander. My review has my name on it and I will be on the side walk serving the public this Sunday and as many as it takes, please share this on face book and with friends. Our tax dollars spend a lot on bringing tourist to Florida, this type of behavior legal or not can not...

Read moreHistoric Cocoa Village has maintained its unique character, making it a fun place to walk.
During my visit I walked the downtown village area and enjoyed the small shops. I picked a locally owned spot for lunch, which isn't easy because there are a lot of choices.
After lunch I continued walking past Taylor Park into Lee Wenner Park. The path along the Indian River waterfront is very walkable, with benches to sit on and enjoy the view.
By mid day, during the winter months, this area gets very busy (when I visit Cocoa in the summer it is very quiet). I recommend getting there before lunch to get good parking. The sidewalks in the village are not very wide and easily get crowded.
There are plenty of events in the parks, so check their event calendar and plan your trip accordingly.
If you like the ambience of unique towns, visit Historic...
