Located on the campus of The University of Missouri at Columbia. Academic Hall was constructed in 1840-1843 as the first building of the University of Missouri and the first public university building west of theĀ Mississippi River. Such a beautiful campus with so much historical value. The columns specifically as the remaining pillars to the original universary academic hall. Visit thomas jeffersons original headstone there in the same quadrangle.

This is a great site that you can visit for free anytime. Enjoy the spring flowers at the main drive entry, or grab the botanical gardens map and take a self guided tour. Be sure to research the history of the columns before you arrive.

The campus is in much better shape now ....with less construction much more clean in the grounds are immaculate. Gone are the days of the mud trails across the quad.
