**I apologize for the book, but this was not a good experience at all** We were celebrating my friend's birthday this weekend so there was a group of 5 of us that came in and got a table. We ordered apps at 12:06pm and we recieved them at 12:52pm. My husband and I got the fried ravioli for our app and when they came they were really good. I only received my drink (everyone else had their drink and I ordered water) when we asked the server who brought our apps and our server never acknowledge it after stopping by super quick 3 different times before that. But our server was nice when she would stop by. We ordered our entrees at 12:17pm. We received our food at 1:02pm. The male who brought our food was really rude and basically slammed our food down. He also argued with my husband over what my husband ordered. My husband ordered the Cajun burger with fries and extra cheese sauce. I ordered the bacon and Cheddar chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. My husband had to ask for his fries he ordered because they gave him sweet potatoes fries instead of regular fries and had to ask for his cheese sauce. His burger was super dry. My sweet potato fries tasted burnt and they weren't very good. My sauce looked like someone wiped their finger through it. My sandwich was not good, the cheese did not do this sandwich any good. The chicken though was moist. Two people at our table got coleslaw and it looked questionable and one had a curton in their food. People at our table said their main foods were dry. One got sweet potato fries they never recieved so my husband gave him the sweet potato fries he never ordered, but that my husband recieved. One of our friends never recieved her food when we did. She received it at 1:08pm, but we weren't told her food would arrive late and she questioned if she would get her food. It was busy, but there were plenty of tables open and our waitress didn't check in with us much. We asked for the checks and boxes and we got our checks after about 5 minutes. The service was slow the entire time, but they were quick to come clear our plates from the table and one of our members still had a bunch of food on her plate and they never asked if she wanted a box. Granted she didn't plan on taking her food with her because of how much she disliked it. This was mine and 2 others first time here and it was an unfortunate experience. I will not be back based on this experience. We finally left after being there for an hour and a half. If I could have I would have left a no star review.

Greetings! It's been some time since I have made an effort to review a fine dining establishment but I am now returning to my horse as a trusted steed to illustrate to you my experience at the legendary, COMO, homegrown - The Heidelberg. I thought it was called Gunter Hans because I am ignorant but my confusion was quickly decamped upon my arrival. The waitress read my mind and knew what side order I was going to order before the words escaped my mouth - however - she had no knowledge of either Marty or Kevin (both whose names appear on different menu items - I am still looking into this matter, will note any updates.) My other concern was I could not see my food due to the lack of lighting (see photo) - all in all, I would recommend if you're feeling mysterious and ready to eat some classic bar foods where Ross Meneffee played bar chords when he was 16. **POST FOOD EDIT** I must confess I rated this place a 4 out of 5 while I was still buzzing of my Bonesmasher Rye pour from Sycamore but upon receiving my meal I was less than satisfied. Talk about no sauce. I think perhaps the chef may be allergic to seasoning, maybe that is why there is no record of Marty or Kevin with the wait staff...still no update on these guys. I had not the slightest idea that I had been eating Cajun fries my entire life but based on my experience here it appears so.

Definitely a college bar/restaurant. When we walked in the hostess said how many, after I said 2 she pointed to a table and said "how about that?" It was literally next to the entrance so we asked for a table farther away from the door (it was cold out and the wind coming in as people opened the door) she pointed at a table next to the original table and said there you go. She never left the door until we were almost done with the meal and it was because the owner/manager came onto the floor then she started to do something. Our waiter tried his best, he was busy AF and it seemed like the hostess only set people in his section (probably because it was next to the door and she didn't have to move). But he did a great job! We ordered cheese sticks, when they finally came out we took one bite and spit them out. They looked amazing but must have sat on the counter to long before getting to us because they were room temp and the cheese was no longer melted. My husband ordered the rueben and the hot German potato salad side....the sandwich was OK but he was in love with the hot German potato salad, he said would come just for it. I got the chicken strips, fries and a house salad. We get the salad and the lettuce was wilted and dry. The fries were good and the chicken strips were kinda decent, little over cooked but not burnt.

I apologize for the book, but this was not a good experience at all

We were celebrating my friend's birthday this weekend so there was a group of 5 of us that came in and got a table.

I don't ever leave reviews, but I just have to express how awful my experience at Heidelberg was.

TLDR:

7:30PM - We arrive. Signs says to seat yourself.

7:40PM - Waitress asks us what we want to drink, doesn't bring menus. (Girlfriend ordered Iced Tea, but the waitress said they don't carry that. )

7:50PM - Brings us our drinks, but not the menus

8:00PM - Brings us the menus - looks at menu and sees Iced Tea as an option. (We've now been seated for 30 minutes and just got the menus)

8:10PM - Takes our order

8:20PM - We get our food. (I ordered Fish and Chips, but the waitress doesn't offer ketchup or tartar sauce? lol) (Girlfriend ordered Potato Soup and it tasted like the bowl wasn't rinsed well and still had soap in it.)

8:30PM - Waitress asked how our food is. I asked her for ketchup and tartar sauce.

8:40PM - Brings tartar sauce, the check and asks of us if we needed boxes.

My girlfriend and I arrived Sunday evening around 7:30 PM. It wasn't too busy and we saw the sign that directs you to seat yourself. No one acknowledged us when we came in and for the next 10 minutes while we waited for service. A waitress came to our table and asked us what we'd like to drink and said she will bring menus. My girlfriend ordered a Iced Tea and the waitress said they didn't carry teas. She didn't return for a solid 10 minutes while she had time to bring the check to the table next to us, process their payment and clean their table. She then brought us our drinks and not the menus. I started to feel like I was in the Twilight Zone. She brings the menu and the first thing we see in the drinks section is "Iced Tea". Another 10 minutes goes by and she comes back to take our order. I ordered Fish and Chips with a cup of Chili. The food did arrive quickly, but the waitress didn't bring tartar sauce for my fish and the ketchup bottle was empty on the table. My girlfriend finished her meal, I finished my chili and ate all my fries before the waitress came back to check on us. I asked her if I could have tartar sauce. She brings the tartar sauce along wit the check and asks if we need boxes haha. At this point...
