Since the start of the new year, I decided to try my hand at homebrewing. I kinda dabbled in it several years ago. This time, I decided to really give it a go. I started with some videos. Then got into the science of it. I was hooked. I remembered the local homebrew store in Columbia, MD. First chance I got I went to their website. Ordered some basic supplies for store pickup. I get to the store and I'm immediately greeted with a very welcoming "How can we help you today?" I have a online pickup order. She said "come this way". Extremely pleasant. I felt very comfortable there. Then it hit me... I might love this place. The more research I did, the more orders I placed for pickup. Every single visit was as pleasant and enjoyable as the previous ones. As I made my first batches, I wanted to expand on them and had questions. This time, I went in without any order placed. When greeted, I stated I had some questions. A delightful gentleman said "come on back, let's talk while I fill an order". I explained what I was attempting and asked for any guidance. Not only did this fine fellow give multiple suggestions but also the science behind them. This man knows his hooch. I didn't just get some information, I got an education. Since that day, I would just show up knowing what I wanted. Still got great conversations and suggestions. I absolutely love this store. It's like a toy store for brew makers. It's AWESOME!! Now I'm there at least once a week. If you're on the fence about trying homebrew, just go in. You will be sooo glad you did. Oh, being a thrifty shopper for items needed for brewing. Your local homebrew store has the best pricing. Just go in and get it. The big online retailer "Am**", are far more expensive. Support your local store and get you some great priced gear and supplies. I have done a ton of comparison and Maryland Homebrew has the best prices. That's why I just go in now. You should do the same. Great prices, huge selection and phenomenal staff makes this a beautiful place to get what you need to get...
